How do I connect to Airport Express with no internet.

Up till now, I have always plugged the airport into venue internet and then, stagescape to the airport.  Today at a venue with no internet.  Plugged SS into Airport.  Tried to connect IPAD to the airport but I just get spinning wheel on IPad.

    Hi Bruce,

     

    For the connection between StageScape- Airport- iPad you do not need internet access. If you connect the USB to Ethernet adapter to the LAN port on the Airport Express and then select your Airport Express in the iPad WiFi  settings and connect to it, the app works. Make sure that you did not plug the USB adapter into the WAN port and that your iPad is connected to your Airport Express. If you restart everything and follow these steps it works.

      My problem was that I had the airport set to BRIDGE mode (good if I want to connect to the local internet.  For anyone else who is using the airport, make sure you have it set to DHPC/NAT mode if you do not have an internet connection.  (The plus of bridge mode was I could connect to the venue internet so I could control it anywhere in the building via the venues wifi.
