Help with  fbv mkii  / Spider iv 150 Features

I am new shere and I'm not sure if I understand this right .........my question is....can I bank up and down through all of the presets on my Spider IV 150 with the FBV mkII express pedal or do I have to turn around each song onstage and do this manually ??

 

The only dumb question is the one you don't ask is what I learned in Marine Corps, so please can someone help

    The FBV Mk II Express will only let you change the to the 4 channels (A,B,C,D) in the currently-selected User Bank.  To change banks or to select any of the song/artist presets, you will need to use the selection dial on the amp.

    The FBV Shortboard will let you scroll through the 16 User Banks as well as select the channels.

    I've used both the FBV express II and the FBV II shortboard for gigging, and there is one extra thing I would add...

     

    With the FBV Express II you have no LCD interface... This means that even when you change patch / bank you have to look around to the amp to verify that the patch has changed when you press for a patch change .. . The FBV Shortboard II gives you the LCD interface so if you are in any doubt as to what sound you are playing you have the reassurance of being able to look down and see straight away what patch you are using.

      Actually, on the Express, the channel light of the selected channel lights up, so you know which channel you are on.  Obviously you don't know what bank you are on, as that has to be changed at the amp itself.

       

      The way I use the Express is I will set a bank for 4 sounds used in 1 (or multiple songs), for example:  1 = Clean with small gain, 2 = Clean/gain plus more volume (for a lead part), 3 = Grunge, 4= Clean plus chorus.  So I know what sounds are where for the song(s) I am playing - if you keep the same patterns when saving our user banks, its easy to know what channel to select (for example 2 is always a louder Lead sound, 4 is always Chorus).
