Line 6 Monkey wouldn't see the DT25 via the POD HD500 Link connection. I also couldn't make it work using a Presonus Project Fire Studio (Firewire). Any ideas? Your reply seemed to indicate that it should work via USB and Link via HD500 but I can't see that anyone else made that work. Thanks though.

it won't work through the hd500 no how no way... it will work only through midi. and midi to usb is the most common... no idea if it will work from a firewire/midi interface...
but i have successfully updated using 3 different usb/midi interfaces.

If you have an iPad and already own the iPad camera connector kit you can use the USB interface with TouchOSC. It worked a treat for me.
My only beef with the update is the difference in volume between Fender Twin (I) and Park 75 (Marshall) (II)
It just means a tweak of set ups, still easier with the HD500 in tow!

I used the touchOSC iPad app yesterday along with the Line 6 MIDI mobilizer II to play with the new amp tweaks possible. OMG it works great and how awesome to be able to tweak my amp like that.
Immediately I set up channel B to have the Soldano Crunch on Top III and Soldano Lead on IV. Awesome. Now if my HD500 fails for some reason, I can plug in direct to my DT50 and happily play through it (not that it wasn't great before). Thanks Line 6! What a great update!
The app touchOSC does make it extremely easy to tweak the amp quickly, no doubt about it! I highly recommend it if you have iOS devices.
-PS Got out of the home studio to play with my old band for a Jam over the weekend. (First time with Soldano Models). My bandmates and I was blown away at the sound of my JTV/HD500/DT50 tones. Absolutely incredible! So happy!

for those trying to use MIDI-OX i hooked up my ipad/touchosc to the midi interface on my machine and here is what is sent to the amp when i press some buttons:
first i'm going to show the topo selection (CHANNEL A):
I
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
000484A6 2 -- B0 7A 00 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
000484F7 2 -- B0 7A 00 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
II
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
0005028E 2 -- B0 7A 01 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
00050311 2 -- B0 7A 01 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
III
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
00054934 2 -- B0 7A 02 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
00054985 2 -- B0 7A 02 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
IV
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
0005A130 2 -- B0 7A 03 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
0005A182 2 -- B0 7A 03 1 --- CC: Local Cntrl
pretty sure if you type B0 7A 00 in the sysex command window and then select send sysex you would select topo I (the rest you can figure from the copy/paste above)
a few example amp selections:
SLO CLEAN (CHANNEL A, CURRENT TOPO)
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
0008784C 2 -- B0 0B 1A 1 --- CC: Expression
000878A0 2 -- B0 0B 1A 1 --- CC: Expression
SLO CRUNCH
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
00093CBD 2 -- B0 0B 1B 1 --- CC: Expression
00093D10 2 -- B0 0B 1B 1 --- CC: Expression
SLO OVERDRIVE
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
0009981C 2 -- B0 0B 1C 1 --- CC: Expression
00099860 2 -- B0 0B 1C 1 --- CC: Expression
These are the amp defaults...
anyway... if someone tries this and confirms that it works for them, I can do the other amps...
however, once you do this, and correlate it to the numbers shown in the midi guide, I think it will make sense....
or at least i hope so... because i'm far from a midi expert... just trying to help people get started.

Zap, I will have to again say that I appreciate your help, deeply, but that does not solve the problem.
I entered in B0 7A 00 and hit "send sysx" and the Topologies on my amp started clicking non-stop.
I understand entering a command like this, but it does not tell me how to change all the topologies (1-4) for channel A & B permanently.
Also, how do I keep it from continuing to send the midi signal infinitely like it was doing?

anything you change is permanent.... (although you can restore to factory defaults)
select topo I (you can do this on the amp and without midi) and send: B0 0B 1A
and you should have SLO CLEAN on I channel A
it should only send it once, you can always unplug the midi after you change the amps.

That can't be right, Zap. Solo Clean is value 26. And channel A is value 11 or 12 (to use default settings).
So it should be something like B0 11 26. The structure of the "command" seems critical too. What is the B0 for, for example?

I believe that the numbers are converted here to hexidecimal which is a base 16 numbering scheme rather than the straightforward 10 base scheme.
but those are the commands sent from touchosc to the DT50 that selects the amp correctly.

just tried the conversion...
1A does indeed equal 26.
0B = 11
i used this page for conversion: http://www.mathsisfun.com/binary-decimal-hexadecimal-converter.html

OMG... We have to convert the Chinese to Greek???????
I'm sorry but this is F'ing rediculous. Sometimes sending the midi works and sometimes it doesn't. My amp just keeps clicking away into infinity and the EQ knobs do not work now.
Line 6, you must remedy this or at least give us some guidance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

B0 is 176. What the heck is that for?
I still can't get the amp to stop clicking after I "Send Sysx"...............
FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
