but it's one of the best models... love it... all 3 channels are great...

i'm sure they'll get to the 500/bean/pro eventually....

i think they added them here first as a peace offering of sorts...

Man you aint kidding. Maybe its just the "new car smell", but I have now rebuilt all my tones with the SLO, and they are all better for it.

It does clean better than the Twin. It does Crunch WAY better than anything else in the box, and it is one of the better high gainers on the OD channel.

There are a couple song-specific tones I will still use the Hiway, PhD, and Elektrik for... but my four "main" tones are all SLO now.

I havent even messed with the Plexi, and I was looking forward to that.

Another thing that I love here, and just sort of realised earlier today - I dont have to worry about updating it. If it fails to mesh at rehearsal, I can just roll back to 1.31, reload my backed up bundle, and be fine for the gig friday.

I could get used to this. \m/

Just finished updating, and plugged my Fender Deluxe P-Bass Special into the Ampeg model...dear god, the TONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That amp model alone adds a significant amount of value and flexibility to an already awesome product.

I am not familiar with the "No cab" feature.  I typically am sending my xlr out to the PA board.  What makes the "No cab" feature awesome.  Is this something really only nice if I am sending the output to an AMP, or does it sound good going directly to the PA?

Did your USB connection fail during the update?

While I agree placement of an EQ outside of the FX blocks would be nice and much prefered.  I think the bigger isuse is the fact that the EQs in the 300 are (IMO) worthless for tweaking the sound the way it needs to be tweaked (especially in the low end spectum).  We knew about the placement of the EQs in FX1 when we bought it (assuming you did some basic research, that was available before the things even hit the stores 2 years ago). 

What we really need is a usable EQ.  Period. 

The MIC Pre has a hi-pass and low-pass filter.  The problem is you have to add "drit" to get to unity volume, and the MIC pres just muddy things up, which is what I'm trying to get rid of with EQ in the 1st place.

I say take away the MIC Pre and give us DEP cab editing, or substantial strightforward EQ control.  I don't care if it is in FX1 block, if i need more gain I can pick a higher gain amp, etc. 

(Also there are thousands of dirt boxes that sound better than the on-board L6 one has, many that are pretty cheap...which is an easy way to "free up" the fx block. 

Did you update the Flash Memory to 2.01? You need to update the HDEDIT and Flash Memory. Go to Line 6 Monkey and do both.

yup we sooooooooo need cab dep....i need the hard gate where i can use it without sacrificing screamer (hard gate=useless) ..AND i need the eq too where i can use it even while using screamer..stuffing everything in the FX1 is gettin on my nerves..i guess i SHUDV waited so dat i cud afford HD500

IMO, if LINE6 cant provide eq and hard gate separately for every patch, they might as well stuff it into FX2 so that one can use them where they need a tone with no effects other than the ones in FX1..for xampl in case of a heavy distorion meant for modern metal riffing, i cud perhaps use the screamer from FX1 and use the HARD GATE or an eq from FX2 considering FX2 goes unused most of the time in such tone situations..and since afterall we are humble 400/300 users we can at least hope for the hard gate OR eq feature in FX2...using them at the same time is only if u can afford 500

Hey arresta- are those live drums on those clips? I really like the drums in those clips. Of course, the guitar playing and tones are also great. Can't wait for the Soldano- I have an HD500.

Are you trying to find it in the Edit software. If so, my guess is you never updated your Edit software. Pretty sure that needs to be updated in order to see the new models.
