ToneDirect Monitoring Output not adjustable.

I am running Pod Farm 2.55 in stand-alone mode and everything works great except the knob that should adjust the direct monitor output does nothing. I have no reference, but I believe it is stuck at 100%. I can adjust the knob, but there is no reduction in volume. This is obviously very frustrating because the direct monitoring is drowning out the drums and other recorded tracks that are playing back from Logic Pro.
I called customer support and was told this was a bug in this version, and given two workarounds, both of which I find unacceptable. First, I was told to lower the Output of Tone A and B, and raise the Recording tone to compensate. Anyone who knows anything about audio quality knows it's always worse for sound quality to amplify a quiet sound vs. lower the volume of a louder source (keeping the sound resolution high). The second work-around I was told was to use pod-farm as a plug-in through logic, and monitor through the software. I have latency issues when I do this.
I need my ToneDirect Monitoring!!!
HELP!!! There has to be a fix for this. I am not apposed to using an older version of the software, but would like to know one that works. (I already tried using version 2.53 and had the same issue)
I don't know if it's relevent, but I am using Mac OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion, on a Macbook Pro, with the Line 6 UX1 Toneport.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
