iPad app for M20d StageScape reconnects everytime after using another app

I want to use a RTA (RealTimeAnalyzer)-app along with the StageScape app.

When I switch to the RTA-App I can measure the the RTA (with ext. microphone).

But when I switch back to the StageScape app, everytime the reconnect window on the iPad apears.

Is it possible that the connection to the SS stays alive, even when I use second app.

Normaly it should be possible, because the SS app was already loaded as a task in the background.

Hi,
I'm finding the same problem. Most Annoying. I'd like to be able to switch between my V Control App (for Ableton Live) and the SS App. Everytime I switch from V Control I have to reconnect SS. This of course, will not do for live performance - I need instant access to my mixer in the event that I need to pull down a fader or tweak something on the fly. Waiting a couple seconds to reconnect the SS app makes me unable to multitask.
The suggestion above of another ipad is really not the best solution to the problem. The solution is for Line 6 to programme the app so it can run in the background when using another and be able to immediately recall and use it.
I hope Line 6 addresses this soon.

  I'm having a similar issue. I'm using the iPad app to control the mixer and then I close the cover of the iPad to protect it while we play (which also puts it to sleep) and when I open the cover and open the app again, I have to return to the iPad's control panel (WiFi section) and select the M20D again and then return to the app and attempt to reconnect to the mixer, which often takes several attempts over a period of several minutes. I love my M20D, but this issue is a pretty serious limitation for gigging.

    Scott, it sounds like you are using a wifi stick instead of the apple usb to ethernet connector and a wifi router. I am sort of sorry they offer the usb stick option, because you do have the issues you mention. If you use the external router, it takes 1-2 seconds for the app to re-connect to the M20 after you open the app.

      Heya Bruce,
      I didn't know you could even do that. That will work well for my home studio. As for gigging, I'm not sure I want to lug around a router, in addition to everything else, but it may be a necessity. Thanks very much for telling me about this other option; I truly appreciate it!
