My band uses two HD100 MKII heads because we practice live one week, direct the next.  We hoped we could use our heads like PODs.  The out put signal is so hot even having the preamps off on the interface, they are over-saturated. 

How do you deal with this, is this normal?

Please be as descriptive as possible as I am a new owner as is the other guy. 

I have scoured the forums and have seen the problem mentioned but never explained how to correct it in the head.  We feel that it's a MAJOR design flaw if the head is designed to be able to to direct recording yet you have to run a DI inline to allow you to do so.
