Hi: I have a question
I have a POD (PODx3, HD), when I connect the POD to my Computer (laptop) and I listen through of speakers of Computer, the sound is great!
But when I connect my headphones (like sony) to my POD, the sound is very bad, the sound is “plastic”.
I think that the most correct is to use headphone of “flat response”
What mark and model of headphone of flat response do you recommend me ???
Thanks
Anybody????
Line6 recommends high impedance headphones of 150-600 ohms.
That is not to say you can not use lower. I use Sony MDR-7506 which is 63 ohms and they sound great (to me). The Sony MDR-7506 are studio monitor headphones and are meant to be as flat as possible.
My guess is your laptop is exaggerating the bass, as most consumer/computer speakers tend to do, so it may just be a matter of EQing your patches to suit how your are monitoring your sound.
I use sennheiser hd280's and many people do... it's a solid set.
I prefer Grado cans with mine, but they're not for everyone. They are not very comfortable and the "Y" cable gets in the way. But the sound is unbeliavable... like putting my head on a mic stand infront of my mesa 2x12.
Sony 7506 and senn HD280 are both solid choices. Add to that the AKG K240s, I like the 55-ohm model but AKG has several models. All are studio workhorse cans that will serve you well.
If you are on a tight budget, or want something more portable and lightweight consider the Koss portapro or KSC75. The little KSC75 ear-clip phones sound incredible for the $$... don't let the price fool you.
Lately I have been using Bose AE2 with my POD. Its not the best choice headphone as a monitor, as its slightly bass-bloated, or bass-heavy. Because of that, the tendency is to EQ the bass out of the mix a bit... and this will lead you to bright sounding recordings. But its so CRAZY comfortable. The cable is thin, light and totally out of the way with my guitar on my lap.
Hi Guys
What do you think about these HeadPhones for to use with the POD ????
What do you think is the better for to use with the POD????
Thanks
