I have read your other post, too, where a previous problem had been solved. In that post you mentioned that you were using HD500 Edit at the time. Are you using HD500 Edit while this problem is occurring? If so, try to reproduce this problem with your HD500 usb disconnected.
I mention this because I have seen other posts recently that indicate a bug in HD500 Edit with respect to the Tap Tempo function. Perhaps that is what's happening to you here.

I did also try that and I can reproduce it without the USB/HD Edit running. In fact I played today at church and had to tap out the tempo for each of the four songs. I again verified in Settings that each song had an apparent different tempo.
I also tried it with the switches set to "ABCD" (no USB) and it doesn't hold the tempo for any patch then either. For some reason all the songs seem to be stuck at 74bpm which is the tempo of preset 10D.

That's very weird. It's not a general bug - my HD500 works as expected in this respect. It sounds like either a messed up global setting (I know you've already checked it) or a firmware glitch.
I would reset the global parameters, followed by a pedal recalibration. Remember that this will change the setlist names, but not the presets. You may have to manually edit setlist names to restore them.
If that doesn't work I would back up all setlists and then run Line 6 Monkey to reinstall the latest firmware.
Hope this works.
