POD HD Bean Clipping

Hi all, I just got a HD bean, and it's been giving me trouble.

My setup is Schecter Damien Elite 8 string guitar > Pod HD Bean > sennheister HD201 headphones

Basically, on all patches, if I hit the strings hard, i will get a lot of nasty sounding digital clipping.

I tried sweeping the master knob on the pod face, and the clipping is present at all audible volumes.

I tried turning down the mixer gain which didn't get rid of it.

I have the latest firmware.

I recorded the sound in reaper to see if it's just from the headphone output, and the clipping is in the recording as well.

I'm using studio/direct output mode, but I tried all the different modes, which only changed the character of the clipping, but didn't get rid of it.

I also tried all input combinations that result in a sound, and as long as I can hear anything, that clipping will be in it.

Please help.

Here is an excellent resource created by one of the users here. It discusses many aspects of clipping that can occur in the Pod HDs. Thanks go to meambobbo.
