Is it possible to get a bouzouki or a mandolin sound model into a Tyler Variax?

Hi, I'm asked for sounding as a bouzouki and a mandolin for the gigs with the variax as some years ago I could make this with the Line 6 Variax 700 acoustic guitar. Nowadays I haven't got that guitar and before buying the Tyler I would like to know if its possible to expand the sounds palette with new instruments as for example a bouzouki. Thanks in advance
Do you mean is it possible for you, or is it possible for Line 6?
No, as it stands right now, it is not possible to get these sounds on a James Tyler Variax (though I imagine a 12 string model with the tuning set really high would come close to a mandolin). There is no way to get any sounds onto the guitar besides what is already there except when Line 6 offers a firmware upgrade - unless you count fiddling with pickups and whatnot via Variax workbench.
For Line 6? I dunno, drop them a line and let them know you're interested in that having those sounds in a future firmware.
Thanks for your answer scheater5, I was in doubt about getting a Tyler Variax for the job but now I have to find a second hand Line 6 700 acoustic for the gigs. Happy New Year!!
I put this question 6 month ago to Line6 people.
Unfortunately they have this policy not revealing in beforehand about new features.
But Ethnic stuff should be known to them - and is an excellent addon if to be implemented.
I am waiting for more ethnic stuff and a midi guitar solution before I get a JTV.
i did a mandolin tuning for boat on the river i'll load up to youtube next week
Stay in the mix and in the know.
