ux1 pops and cracks

Hi I have a bought the ux1 and i have these pops and cracks all the time i use win7 x64 and it's not only when i use podfarm even when i use media player to play music or reason with my midi keyboard i have these cracks on pops that i didn't had before using the device(using the onboard sound card)...

I disabled the onboard sound card and it helped a little but didn't resolved the problem entirely...

How do i resolve this problem?

every computer is different... there is no one size fits all answer for you...

and some of those views could have been other people looking to see what may have worked for you...

here is a link with some optimizations you can try:

    Hey reggev,

Make sure that you have the most recent version of the Line 6 drivers and Monkey installed as well:

      Windows Drivers 4.2.4.9:

      http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=4143

      Line 6 Monkey 1.43:

      http://line6.com/getrelease?rid=4223

After successfully installing Line 6 Monkey and the drivers please try removing any additional unnecessary USB and firmware devices from your computer when troubleshooting this issue. Make sure to connect it directly to a USB port and not a USB hub, extension, or keyboard of any kind, preferably connect it to a USB port on the rear of computer. Try using additional USB cables and every USB port available.

Launch Line 6 Monkey and apply any updates that are available.

To ensure your Windows Vista or 7 computer is optimized to work with audio processing, please follow the link below for a official Microsoft optimization guide that has some more suggestions other than the ones provided in the our optimization videos.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Optimize-Windows-7-for-better-performance

I would also suggest that make sure that UX1 is set up as your computers sound card, to do so reference the video tutorial at the link below:

      http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2083

In addition, if you are using a DAW, try increasing the buffer size on the audio preferences menu. As well as changing the buffer size on the Line 6 Audio-MIDI device menu which is located on the Control Panel. This will increase latency, so you will have to experiment which setting works best for your computer.

Hi, the only solution I found to this problem is to downgrade windows version to XP, I tried EVERYTHING in Win 7,   nothing worked.

    Hi, there is solution.

    1. Go to your system settings (Start -> Controll panels)
    2. Open "Line 6 Audio-MIDI Devices"
    3. Set buffer size to higher values (increases lattency little bit but removes CPU usage and cracks from output).
    4. Hit Apply and enjoy.

    Works fine for Windows 7.
