Planning to buy DT25 without pod hd

Is it a good idea to buy DT25 for a straight forward guitar -->amp setup? I could get a midi footswitch for more versatility.
Are there any DT25 users without pod hd?
I just ordered one and although I have the pod hd 500 the versatility of this amp on its own really sold me. I am a huge fan of some of the amps you can emulate. I love the Dr. Z emulation you can achieve through the latest software update. I think it's very clever on Line 6's part
I use a dt25 combo without the HD pedal. I use Boss analogue pedals. It sounds great. I used to have a HD300 but didn't get on with it. It didn't sound bad, I just wanted a what-you-see-is-what-you-get simplicity to my floorboard. I use the 'park' (voice ii) in pentode mode in class A and it rocks. All I use in front is a Boss Turbo screamer, a standard OD pedal from Boss and the Boss EQ pedal for a bit of extra drive when I need it and it sounds great. I'd highly recommend it. (And I've tried a lot of amps).
I love using my DT50 112 or my DT25 head with my old BOSS pedal board...I have an HD400 and an HD desktop...They have thier place, but I love using my old pedals...I have a couple of classics in that board...
GTR->NS-2->DS-1 (Clean Scream Mod)->FZ-5->DT input
DT Loop Send->BF-2->DM-3->DT Loop return
The BF-2 and DM-3 are made in japan and will never part with them...Sometimes change out the DS-1 or the FZ-5 for a Strymon OB.1
I use an old Peavy footswitch to change channels...
Sometimes I hook up my old 80s rig to both amps...10 space rack with ADA-MP1, SPX90s, SPX990 and dual Effectron 1024s...With the old ADA-MP1 and the DT power amps and a little midi control on the topography I basically have an analog modeling system...I love that setup, but it's way too big for me to carry around these days...getting too old...
Stay in the mix and in the know.
