Rode Mic set up in POD Farm

I just bought a Rode NT1A Condensor mic and I can't get any sound from it. Please Help!
I have the phantom power swtich on and the gain knob turned up for the corresponding line input (input 3)
I am getting a signal and the instrument pannel moves when I speak into the mic.
I have it in input 3 because I read somewhere that the first two inputs are dedicated to guitar?
I also have micorphone 1 input selected in mixer view in POD Farm
In system preferences under inputs and recording I have input source switched to mic for inputs 1 - 4 and the stereo checked off
in system preferences under outputs and monitoring I have all mute buttons switched off, volume turned up, and pan in the middle. When I speak into the mic, the sound bar moves indicating that I have a signal.
I am all out of ideas what to do next. Please help
What device do you have?
UX8
I'm assuming you are you using XLR cables?
Also, how are you monitoring the sound (or lack of).
One XLR cable from my Rode micorohone to the Micorphone Line Input number 2 on the UX8
I am using KRK rockit 8s connected to the "main outs (1 and 2)" at the back of the UX8 using planet waves instument cables
UPDATE: I can now get some sound, but it is very quiet and I can't get the voice plug ins on POD Farm to work.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
