DT25 - Does anyone else find the speaker very directional?

Like the title says....

I love the sounds I get out of my DT25 but it's really noticeable when cranked up to near gig volumes at rehearsal the the sound seems to come out very, err, focused in a straight line with not a lot of dispersal.

ie: The amp tends to get pointed at my keyboard player on the other side of the room who gets deafened but everyone else a few feet or so either side from the "tunnel of sound" says it's too quiet.

It's not just the keyboard player being funny, if I go walkabout to the other side of the room I can hear exactly what he means. Standing in the direct line of the speaker is a LOT louder than a few feet either side.

Anybody else noticed this? Certainly the sound doesn't spread out as much as it did from my old Marshall 1974X.

Other than adding expansion cabs, does anyone have any suggestions? I don't really want to have to put guitar through the PA for the small venues we do.
