Line6 HD500 w/DT amp Patch Sharing

I am hoping to get something going here to have more HD500/DT amp users share patches specifically for that application.

Customtone is primarily filled with patches built around using the HD500 with headphones or PA.

I have had somewhat of a love/hate relationship with my DT amp and getting good tones with the HD500 connected via the L6 link.  But I have found some and would like to share them and also get some from people that have patches they feel really make this setup shine.  I know you are out there

 

I am not sure where to put my files to share with others.  I imagine there are free file sharing sites similar to a Photobucket or the like. If anyone has any ideas let me know.  I can also email files if you PM your email address.  I did get a suggestion fo dropbox.com, but haven't checked into it yet.

I do have some new ones I got from people outside the forum that are promising, but I have yet to put them through there paces.

    You can put hem on customtone.

     

    I know what you mean about a love/hate relationship. It's like you have to learn a new instrument.

      Yeah I guess I will just put them on Customtone and put DT in the name and include that in the Description.

       

      What kind of tones are you going for jimkidd?  I have 2 high gain patches I built myself that I think are pretty good.  One built off a JCM800 I believe and then another with the SLO once that came out.

        Thats what I do or put JTV DT for those with the dream rigs.

        I've only got one tone started right now. I took MeAmBobo's Randy Rhoads patch and have been working on it. I don't have it finished yet.

         

        I recommend you find some patches that you may like then try them out in LVM to see if you do. Then after you find one tweak it for the DT power amp. I've also noticed with my setup (DT50 Head and a 4 x 12 Cab) that I'm gonna have to make one for tame volumes and one for when I'm home alone and I can turn it up. It's fine though. If I'm not doing that I'd probably just be watching TV.

         

        BTW. MeAmBobbo has a great guide at http://foobazaar.com/podhd/ that should be required reading for POD HD owners. We should pool our resources and buy the guy a DT50 so he can work his magic with it.

          haha...thats actually not a bad idea about buying him a DT.  I am familiar with his guide and it has helped me a bit here and there as I have spent time doing some tweaking.

          Back in the summer I did put his setlist on my HD and ran it through the DT.  I found in many cases I ended up changing the Topology to get it sounding pretty good.  I think I still have them on my bundle, but haven't really used them.  I ended up finding one of my own that was a bit more tailored for what I wanted. 

          I have not tried his latest ones.

          All in due time.  I don't get many chances to play around with this stuff these days.

    Please add the type of guitar or at least humbucker / single coil pickup configuration that is used also.

    I've been checking out alot of tones and I have a hard time finding ones that are using the same setup as I am.

    Pickup configuration, amp vs. headphones or monitors, DT amp or other brand all really affect the sound.

     

    There is alot of good stuff on custom tone, it is just time consuming to figure out what you can use without having to redo alot of the settings.
