M13 not going into the FX-Loop ? 4-CM. HELP !

Hi. My name is Fannar and i have had the Line 6 M13 for 2 years and I love it !

I have always connected it with the Four Cable Method and never had any problems but recently I got the feeling that everything wasn't right.

I use Bank 1 for Overdrive and Distortion (FX in front of the amp) and Bank 2,3,4 for Modulation, Reverb and Delay (After the Amp/Via the loop)

In the past I always had this smooth/rich/heaven like Delay sound (Bank 2,3,4 in the FX LOOP) but like 4-5 weeks ago it changed. It's like the Delay is in front of the amp. I've tried to reconnect my setup like 9-10 times (always connect via the 4 Cable Method) but it stays the same. It's hard to explain but i feel my Delay isn't blending with the signal as well it did. It's like the Delay sticks out if you know what I mean. I play a note and the Delay note doesn't exactly blend with playing. It's more like having 2 seperate players play at the same time.

I can't even hear a difference if a connect my M13 just through the Input and Output or via the 4-CM and i find that strange. I should hear a really big difference. Specially on the Modulation and Delay FX.

I also can hear a slight volume boost when i engage my Delay. I had never noticed that before but I think it started when the M13 started to behave weird. The Delay should be transparent and not have anything to do with the volume ?

What could this do ? Should i reset my M13 ? Could this be a bad cable ? Could some of my internal M13 settings be wrong and interfering with the 4-CM ?

I play through the Mesa Boogie Express 5:50 1x12 combo. The only info i can find on the FX loop : Fully Buffered FX Loop , The transparent series EFFECTS LOOP handles the interface to all outboard processing.

Could the Mesa FX LOOP be broken ?

Please let me know if you have any ideas how to solve this and help my to get my smooth Delay and Reverb back !

    Re: M13 not going into the FX-Loop ? 4-CM. HELP !

First thing is go for the simplest solution.

    1. Check your scene settings and verify that the modulation effects are routed where they should be.

    2. If that fails, get yourself some contact cleaner with lubricant (available at Radio Shack) squirt it in the output jacks and run a plug a few times, perhaps there is some gunk in it and they do get stuck in time.

    3. If these 2 don't work, it could be a jack failure. If you had your M13 effects set up properly (modulation in loop) but didn't plug anything to the effect loop jacks, then it would route everything through the input.

    Good luck.
