Noise from XLR-cable?

Sometimes when I turn on my POD HD500/DT25, I get quite a a lot of noise through the amp, which sound kind of like if you blow into a mike.

I usually turn the amp off an on again, and then it disappears, most of the times. I use a standard XLR-cable.

Are there any options to the cable? Could the cable be the cause of this?

    Re: Noise from XLR-cable?

Technically, the L6Link is an AES/EBU connection, and while the connectors are the same, the cable itself is different. The termination impedance of an XLR cable is 70 ohms, and for a AES/EBE cable it's 110 ohms. So there could be some difference. That being said, I doubt the issue you're experience is because of this difference. It could be that you simply have an XLR cable that's going bad.
