Line 6 Spider IV 75 watt

HI everyone. I am new to the forum. I have a Line 6 Spider IV 75 Watt. I usually play with the volume on 1 or 2. Ever since I got the amp about 8 months ago I have had a problem. I will be playing and the volume will go way down then it will go like balls to the wall up. This is done when I am not switching to any preset or manual setting. I have done the factory reset several times with no joy. I got the amp from musicians friend for $199.00. HELP!

I can suggest that you try putting a small piece of tape over the volume knob after you get the volume you want,

then see if it creeps up or down, if so, then it is a problem with the cpu in your amp, or short in the volume control,

if it does nothing, then it may be moving from vibrating. i really do not like the light touch of these knobs,

i wish they made them more resistant to turn.

Let me ask something here. Does this volume change happen after you've played, while you are playing? Or, does this happen when you turn ON the amp? (The amp will be really loud when you first turn on)

If it's the latter, this is what each of my amps have done, change presets or 'jiggle' the master volume.

In any case, make sure you connect to your computer, through a board, and get your updates.
