JTV-59- Firmware 1.9 update failed

When I started the 1.9 firmware upgrade, both sides of my USB interface were green. Half (?)  way through the guitar side turned red and tit doesn't look like the upgrade completed.

I have a fresh fully charged battery in there, the volume is NOT set to 0,  and nothing that I do will change the interface back to green now.

My JTV-59 is now pretty much hosed. Nonv of the preprogrammed tunings work and it seems like I'm missing many guitar models too.

I'd just like to get it back to the factory presets.

What can I do to resolve this?

I'm running Windows 8 (64)

Another oddity is that Line6 Monkey thinks that the latest firmware is 1.03, not 1.9.

first change usb ports for the workbench device, and make sure that the driver installs

try downloading the firmware, on it's own: http://line6.com/software/

    and then flash from file.

it also might not hurt to plug in a 1/4" plug, as some older firmwares required to wake the variax.

yes i meant plug into a different port on your machine.

you might check the device manager to see if th drivers reinstalled.... or you could probably reboot to make sure.

have you plugged a 1/4" jack into the JTV? some older firmwares required it...

not sure about the expected file extension, but if you got it from this site it's surely the correct file.
