Line 6 hd pro Amp equivalent, and direct out

Hi guys, so, i'm thinking in buying new gear, to replace my good old boss me-25. I'm really interested in the pod hd pro, seems like an awesome unit. Although, i would like to know, if there's some equivalent of the software contained in the HD in the Line 6 combos, like the spider mkii or spider IV, because i want to record at home and also being capable of perfoming in some gig or rehersal if needed, without having to buy more gear to complement the HD Pro. Also, (sorry for asking too many questions!), if using the direct out of one of line 6 amplifiers, would i need an interface like presonus or m-audio, or could i just plug it into the pc?
Sorry if i wasn't specific enough, and thank you in advance.
The Spider IVs have a lot of great sounds, not sure how similar they are to the HD amps. The line out from the Spider IV is an audio signal, so you will still need a device which converts audio to digital (USB or Firewire Audio Interface).
Stay in the mix and in the know.
