Help me please.

I have, through the headphones, some squeaking and hissing.

The monitors' needles move when the computer's mic picks up sound but neither the SM58 nor guitar sounds are being recognised and there's none of that sound coming through the headphones, although I can get a very feint noise from the windows sounds when played as a test.

Podfarm is receiving a constant noise, despite the gate being set at about 80%.

I have tried changing various settings in windows 7 and the device settings but nothing seems to have helped.

Is there a problem with my UX2?
