Variax 600 with Graph Tech Ghost Saddles fitted

Hi, after having dead piezo's on my V600 I had Ghost Saddles fitted (other users in forums seemed to like them). At the moment, I'm not happy with them. There is a huge amount of what sounds like compression at the beginning of the note and the strings sound "thumpier". Previously if I used the "Special" guitar setting on position 3, I had a lovely sweet sound that was perfect for soul numbers. Now it sounds too clunky.
It's possible that I need to change the strings. My Variax has been out of action for a couple of months so they may have gone off. Also, I've read that the output of the Ghost Saddles is higher and you need to lower them in Workbench (Don't have Workbench at the mo).
Anyone else experienced this? I'll have to try but it would be good to hear from other Variax users who've switched to Ghost Saddles.
Cheers
yes that is exactly what you need to do the graph techs are much more responsive. once you tweak with workbench youll be all set
Yup. The Variax was modeled to be used with LR baggs, so it's going to sound most accurate with an LR baggs setup, but workbench should fix any clipping if you back up all the output levels of your models. It's gonna take a while but it's worth it.
That's great. Many thanks
