DT50 212 - Attenuator / Cable Length

I got a Weber Mass 100 and want to put it between the head and the cabinet on my DT50 212. I got a high quality speaker cable to go between the head and the attenuator, but the cable connected to the speakers is too short. I could build a little stand for the attenuator or wedge it inside the cab or something, but those things sound wrong. I could get a new cable, but because it's a 212 it has one cable leading to two speakers, and I'm not sure what kind of replacement I'd need. I don't know anything about wiring and was hoping you guys could give me some guidance. Is it better to replace that cable entirely, or to put some kind of extender/adapter between that cable and the attenuator? I just don't want to do something that will destroy my amp (or the attenuator).

Otherwise, the connection seems pretty straight forward. The speakers are already in the 16 ohm connection on the amp's head, so I assume the attenuator should also be set to 16 ohm. Sound reasonable?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give me.

I've been using Line6 products since the Pod XT, and have had the Bass Pod XT, Pod X3, HD500 and HD Pro (now on top of my amp). They consistently make products that blow me away. The DT50 is no exception.
