Help...how do I do a 2 amp set up?

I have a Line 6 HD500. I want to plug any guitar I want (acoustic or electric) and, based on the patch, have it route either to the right side (my mesa lonestar) or the left side (PA when using my acoustic)

When I tried that, I got some of the most unbelievable hum. tried several cables. Tried switching the ground lift. Hum was quieter but still there. Hum goes away when I unplug one of the two xlr output cables.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, for some reason I can only do this using xlr outputs. The 1/4 outs are only mono so I can't isoloate either side.

So for clarity I would like my signal chain to be

Guitar-Guitar In on HD 500
Right XLR Out-Mesa Boogie Input
Left XLR OUT-PA system

  I've only run mine with a single guitar at a time but I think I've read/heard that you can run 2 at a time.
  Here's an "Indespensable Guide" to the HD500 written by one of the users in this forum... turned to the section that should help you.

  If the amp and the pa aren't on the same circuit you may be getting a ground loop. You will probably need something like this to help eliminate it:

  You should get stereo out of the 1/4" as long as both outputs are connected. Make sure the Pod Mixer block is panned hard left and right and you have no mono summing fx after the mixer block. If you only use one 1/4' output it will sum to mono.
