problem with g 90 using a TBP12 transmitter

I recently purchased the above-referenced Line 6 products. It was my first time going wireless and I was very excited. At the club, and after setting up, when I turned my rig on unfortunately all I got from my receiver was CH 1 NO TRANS and underneath that, RF LEVEL C D. No audio level, no battery strength level -- nothing. The readout remained the same when I turned the transmitter off. It's like neither knows the other exists. I ended up playing with a cable much to the laughter and derision of my band-mates. I had been trying to convince them to go wireless with me for weeks. Boy, were they hooting it up at my expense.
I brought my rack home thinking that it may have been a problem with the location but, when I plugged everything in, same result -- nothing. I have this terribly nagging feeling that it's some basic, simple thing that I have just overlooked but, for the life of me, I can't figure out what it is. The trouble shooting info in the owner's manual is sparse to say the least.
I woud be ever so grateful if someone could help me get my system running the way it is supposed to. If it's a simple remedy I'll be laughing right along with everyone else at how much of a block-head I am. I'm just hoping that my hard earned money will still prove to be well spent.
Thank you.

Ummm, never mind. I should have spent more time on this site investigating the knowlege base and the answers to similar problems. When I followed the instructions on how to change the transmitter to RF-1, B-I-N-G-O!!! My receiver said (and I'm paraphrasing) "Hi there!" And yes, I do feel silly but man it's good to know that the system works as it should AND that this fool can still be taught. lol
