amp for podxt

I recently bought a pod xt with all of model packs. I love it. My question is "what kind of amp is best to run it in to?" I don't know whether you need a high dollar stack now since I would be using the clean channel anyway. I want to get a decent combo amp for it but I need help. What is the best way to take advantage of the modeling? Big Roland jc120, or do you need tubes. Or should I go poweramp and spe aker cab? Do you want a tube amp or solid state? I'm really confused about it. I want a big sound, at least bigger than the 10watt crate amp I'm using now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it might seem to you a lot of trouble, but i think you should demo different amps and decide for yourself. there are numerous threads that discuss which amp to go to. search amps+pod xt

Another thing to consider is if you will be gigging or not.

A decent set of near field studio monitors are great for a recording studio environment.

    hi,

try the following set:  connect your pod to small mixer, then use to output of the mixer to feed one or two smaller active  PA boxes (RCF or the like). thus you will get great tone and a nice way to feed the FOH system.

feel free to contact me if there are further questions...

Atomic Amps makes flat frequency response amps just for amp modelers.  They do not color the sound like a traditional, midrange-happy guitar amp.  Probably the best money you'll ever spend if you are making the switch from amps to modelers.

I haven't found a 'regular' guitar amp yet that sounds good with the Pod family.  Sounds amazing thru a computer with high-end monitors and thru a PA.
