HD500 - using the amp sims in guitar amp effects loop...

Does anybody use the HD500 in the loop with amp sims... while having overdirve/ distortion pedals in front of the amp....?
I've used it in the amp loop before ... but never with sims active and having active pedals in front of the amp....
Are there any issues with doing that....?
I love the HD500 but am looking at expanding and getting some pedals... so I want to know if I can create a pedal chain in front of the amp with all the usual suspects... compression, overdrive, distortion etc... to the amp imput... and then use the 500 in the loop to create different amp sims and for the time based effects....
I would think this is a no brainer... but I just wanted to make sure before go off on a pedal tangent...
Thanks...
If you want to use the HD500 for amp modeling, why bother with putting it in your amp's loop? You could just go straight out of the HD500's into your amp's effects return. If you wanted to put pedals before the HD500, you can do that with no issue. Any effects that you'd want post the amp modeling, you'd just put them after the amp block in the HD500's internal signal chain.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
