Gearbox Gold Bundle - presets missing

I have the Gearbox Gold bundle (version 3.00), and have been using it within Pro Tools LE (version 7.3.1) on my Mac (OSX 10.4.9) without any problem up until about a week ago. Now, when I record a track and attempt to use Gearbox as a plugin, all of the standard presets are gone.

 

Any help you can give me to restore all the default settings would be very much appreciated.

    Hello,

     

    I think the first thing that you should do is reinstall Gearbox. You are running a fairly old version at the moment and our latest version is 3.70. Reinstalling the application should refresh the presets list.

      Thanks Miller,

       

      I actually tried that but it wouldn't re-install over the top of the existing version. I can remove it from my applications folder and reinstall I guess, but I'm concerned that the plugin settings on tracks I've already saved in Pro Tools sessions will be wiped.

       

      Is this a risk when re-installing from scratch?

       

      Also, I just checked in the Monkey app - I actually do have v 3.70.

    Hello,

     

    I'm not sure why those presets would just disappear. WE are talking about the stock presets that come with Gearbox correct?

     

    Check something for me. Go to: Documents>Line 6>Tones>Gearbox. Do you see anything in that folder? Any presets?

      We are definitely talking about the standard presets - I don't have any user ones.

       

      I've been to that area, and there are two folders - one is GearBox and one is Line 6 Monkey.

       

      In GearBox, there are two more - Preset and User.

       

      Both of these folders are empty (zero KB on disk).

       

      I haven't changed anything or installed anything that I would have thought would affect the sound modules / settings on my Mac... Very strange. Yet when I open one of my other tracks that I've previously saved Gearbox as a plugin, it still works as I saved it!!!

    Hello,

      It sounds like the files were somehow erased from your system.  If you have no "user presets", it sounds like the easiest fix would be to just reinstall gearbox.  Please go the following link to download/install the latest Gearbox 3.70 software for your Mac Operating System, which also includes the Line 6 monkey intelligent updater and the latest drivers for your Line 6 product.
