Hey can some one please help me. I got a birthday present of a line 6 spider 3 75 during the week and i cannot find a tone I like on it. Im after a slash tone that actually sounds half decent. Thanks for the help.
Hi,
We didn't DESTROY the old forums (insert dramatic tone here). We put them up as read only.

Thanks for letting us know where they are! Would there have been any way we could have found this by navigating the website? i certainly couldn't.
Again, thanks for the link.

If anyone has A good sound Garden setting shoot it up.
wow well for starters lets list teh amp (spider I, II, III, Valve, etc) and then the amp model used in the settings. also i have no idea what ur JP settings are as spiders dont have preamps or power amp versions so its irrelivant on the spider settings thread, but thanks for the basic dial ins im sure everyone will be able to pic a basic amp model w/ those dial ins, thanks a lot dude this is def gonna help a lot of people, though i have to disagree w/ that jerry cantrell a little, he scoops a lot of mid 6 or 7 is kinda high but yeah lets stick the basic pattern:
AMP
GAIN MODEL
DRIVE
BASS
MID
TREB
CHANNEL VOLUME
FX
DELAY
REVERB
this is how spider system settings are usually posted but again thank you so much for all hte bmt settings that will simplify things greatly for dialing in. cheers.

Use Tables? I think it would be easier to read!
tables are pretty, but most people dont have the HTML know how to do it, then when u get someone new who can't do it they get yelled at by 80000 'anti noob' losers so basic text format is easiest for everyone and since this has somewhat formatting,
BREAK
IT
UP
AND
EVERYONE
GETS
IT
but if u prefer tables TABLE away i just dont want people discouraged from posting cuz their affraid of getting hazed by idiots, not implying u or anyone but we both know they exist.
Awesome settings. Anybody got any Papa Roach settings? I just got the Spider III HD150 and I haven't really dabbled in the settings and stuff yet, I just keep it on the "Sweet Child of Mine" setting. lol.

on there you will find a good papa roach setting ![]()

It is also relevant for JM4 Looper users and, I guess, most Spider Models.
Sumissions welcome along with audio clips.
Nice site. It's gonna be awesome when everybody starts posting their setups.
Just a suggestion to add to settings is which type of guitar was used (SCoil,Strat, Tele or Humbucker etc)
You can upload, save and print your own settings at vettaville if you like. They'll be sucure there and backed-up on a regular basis.
See here
i agree with this. guitar woods and pickups are useful info because they can greatly affect the tonal quality and dial settings. also if additional pedals or anything is used its not advisable but good to know, like a TS9DX tube screamer or zakk wylde overdrive or EVH phaser or something.
also if ur going to make a request lets try not ot just say a band or artist, lets be specific down to an album or song because few artists have only one tone their whole career, and many artists use different live tones than recording tones.
Hey, Im looking for the setting slash used for dont cry,the solo mainly but the rest of the song would be helpful too. Im also looking for an alkaline trio setting for their older stuff, any help appreciated,Ian
icanmunch: here is ur slash tone for Dont' Cry. for starters lets just say up front slash uses an overdrive pedal, so w/o one u can't get it just right, and there is no guitar that subs a les paul.
i used an agile hornet, agathis body w/ AL-Hot crome covered humbuckers to produce this tone, a fairly tight full neck tone and an overall balanced bridge tone, if u use emgs or othe rhigh output pickups ur gonna have to adjust cuz it wont have that vintage bit of style thats slash is known for, a sort of dirty modern vintage tone i guess.
Model: RED METAL
Drive: 6 (half)
Bass: 4.5
Mid: 8
Treb: 9
channel: 3/4 and boost ur master, i tend to like it better for low drive settings. but its not a big difference.
FX: wah all the way up in toe position, no switching.
Reverb: half
fyi: if u dont have the wah then it will just be a little fuller than u want but this is pretty much a good slash tone for anything. if u have an overdrive pedal or a tube screamer a mild boost from that will give u a lot more punch and harmonic ur looking for, and i like to always have the wah engaged for my slash channel.
there is a pretty good slash dial in on the first page for his actual amp and what not, u can use that as a base if this is not to ur liking. this tone works for sweet child also and msot velvet revolver.
Thats what I am doing in my thread, check it out

trying to be as specific as possible.
If you like, you can add to it as well - its fairly new, so bare with it ![]()
Spider III Presets catalogue
Here's a list of the preset values on the III 75 upwards
It also includes a list of some of the posted settings from the OLD thread (on the User presets Tab)
http://www.Gav1n.co.uk/SpiderIII.htm
As an aside, I notice that many of your posted settings crank the Drive to max etc (all is good), but none of you ever seem to use the DriveBoost or NoiseGate features at all ?? You should try them.

I was excited for a moment there, and then remembered mine is an HD75, not a 75 and as such just has four channels, no presets and none of these tones can be just dialled in.
Damn.

I have a spider jam & looking for setting to get me closer to the artists.. Anybody have some country artist presets? Like Keith urbun, Tobey Keith, Lady A, Dirks Bently etc...The list goes on.. Anything you have to share.. Thanks in advance...
Hi All. Has an SJam for over a year now, pleased with it. Been using a Strat but just bought an Epi Les Paul Standard(Stock HBs). I can get rich clean sounds and heavy distortion but dont seem to be able to get that Les Paul growl, despite tweaking the dials. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
You need a tone with a bit of "ooomff" in it to get that sound. . . .
So to get as close as possible, you will either have to use alot of bass to get the heavy tone, or used a scooped preset.
Here is a site that has some presets listed, right down to the last detail, and has alot of settings there.
http://uk.line6.com/community/thread/20136?tstart=0
If you go to the end of the list (or near the end) you should find a tone I think is called "Good Marshall Metal Distortion Tone" I have found it to be good with both my passive and active pickups in most of my guitars. Then just ajust the gain setting to your liking. Hope this helps ![]()

Hey everyone. Is there a post like this one for the MK2 series? I recently picked one up and would love to experiment with some popular artist tones. I have looked around online, but can't seem to find anything. Thanks for any input/guidance.
Hi Steelstringer,
Like you, the proud owner of a Spider Valve MkII (112) in search of tone settings. I imagine you've already found the 206 downloads available at the Line6 CustomTone site :
http://http://line6.com/customtone/browse/spidervalvemkii/. A great starting point, but sorely lacking in some classic '60's and '70's artists (Beatles, Who, Stones, Creedence, Byrds), R.E.M., Neil Young,... the list goes on! If anybody out there can contribute ...
. Settings for some of these artists are available for earlier Spider amp models, but the files (I believe, since I tried) ) are incompatible for the MkII series. But maybe some users in the Community can post the settings and from there we can dial them in ourselves (I've tried some of the settings posted by Gav1n at his site with pretty good results. Thanks, Gav1n!).

Last evening, I bought the Line 6 Spider IV 150 150W 2x12 Guitar Combo , with the Line 6 FBV Express MkII Guitar Footswitch after using a Crate stack for too many years, decided it was time to upgrade...I honestly couldn't believe all the settings / presets with this Line 6 unit..Amazing! One setting I was most intrested in was the sound of George Lynch, both Dokken and Lynch Mobb...I havent noticed any presets, etc of these settings, and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find these settings. My guitars I'll be using with this setup are: Les Paul Custom, with Seymour Duncan Invader pickups; Jackson King 'V' with EMG 81 Bridge pickup, stock neck pickup; and BC Rich Warlock, Platinum Series. Any info on the Lynch sound would be most appreciated!
Thanx!
Has anyone got settings for spider 3 75w motorhead - ace of spades
does anyone have any setting for a sonata arctica type sound? (spider iv 15) or just any suggestions for that thick power metal sound?
Anyone know/have a good Alter Bridge setting for the Spider IV 30?
Would be great, thnx!
btw; good job Line6 at making song presets available to download! ![]()
hey does anybody have a good operation ivy setting?
The setting are all fine and has a great sound. thanks for sharing your experience
salut, I bought the Line 6 Spider IV 150 150W 2x12 but I need some presets anyone can help me?
does anyone have any setting for?
Eric Clapton is really a great player of guitar. with that setting you can immitate him. thank you for sharing your settings.
Are there any official updates from LINE6 to existing song-presets? I mean, the company has lot of session players, who could've really nailed various songs down ... and this would make for a great company advantage over competitors (at least for many budding players).
For example, on Spider JAM, there is a preset for "NOTHING ELSE" (matters, obviously
). Now, where could one find, say, "NOTHING ELSE SOLO", etc.
And regarding the (possible) in-built memory limit: couldn't additional presets be stored on a SD card?
EDIT: Only now have I found the CustomTone: what would be the easiest way to use .l6t files on Spider Jam? Which say POD would one have to buy (or is there a way to use the .l6t on Spider Jam without additional equipment)?
PS. These .l6t files are tone patches, right? Would the .l6t intended for Spider IV also work for Spider Jam? ![]()
This is a wonderful opinion. The things mentioned are unanimous and needs to be appreciated by everyone. debt management Free contact form
