Fix Custom Tone

As per custom tone FAQ
Can I get all the Tones at once? You can download all the Tones from the Public Tone Exchange, sorted by product, in this ZIP file. Once downloaded, unzip the file, navigate to the location of the unzipped file using the left list of Line 6 Edit's Tone Locker window, and you'll be able to open any of the Tones that are compatible with your Line 6 device. This file is updated regularly, for the tone junkie who just can never get enough...
Have asked previously and was told to log feature requests which I have done
File hasnt been refreshed in at least 3 years
It was mentioned as being worked on so how much longer????
Hi Scanner112000,
We are in the process of improving and updating CustomTone. I will definitely note your request and pass it along. There have already been improvements with Ratings system now added and sorting by ratings, but more is to come through out the next month.
Thanks!
Hi
Could we have a sorting byhardware's compatibility in the forum so we can list the tone only for our hardware.
Thx

Yes, sometimes it is a bummer how fast the months go by!! The good news is over here, that we have been making great progress on CustomTone. Behind the scenes, we are redesiging and starting the build on it. Was I hopeful about a month completion, yes. But are we shooting for it to be complete in a couple months, yes. We will make big news of it when it is complete ![]()

Thanks Scanner112000 for keeping us on our toes. Per my last message, we are shooting for mid july to have all the new updates live. ![]()

Terrific is the upgrade for customtone its so transparent i cant see it and doesnt seem to make any difference in the selection of tones. Almost like its non-existent kudos to your techs for the increased functionality The front page looks astounding though!!! Reference straight from the FAQ Can I get all the Tones at once? You can download all the Tones from the Public Tone Exchange, sorted by product, in this ZIP file. Once downloaded, unzip the file, navigate to the location of the unzipped file using the left list of Line 6 Edit's Tone Locker window, and you'll be able to open any of the Tones that are compatible with your Line 6 device. Hi scanner ![]()
Customtone is still in the works. We had hoped for a July launch, but we are very close to launch. I promise to announce here when it is launched!
And you had mentioned the zip file, are you having trouble with that? Let me know and I can look into that prior to launch.
Thanks!
Line6Angela
Angela Not having problems with the zip file its the fact that it hasnt been updated or refreshed in so long going on 3-4 years now For my offline pc it would be much easier to have as per the FAQ all tones in one quick downloadable package then to have to try to get them one at a time with an online pc. Hope that clarifies the situation.
Another thing is the current zip file also does not include any POD X3 or X3 Live Tones ie newer products

Needed are a way to CRC check the files to eliminate duplicates A simple zip file utility with page access so when you do a search for Artist/Band u can bundle those tones together and or the simple addition of Pod X3 and Pod X3 Live tones to the zipfile that hasnt been refreshed for 3-4 yrs as it said on the FAQ page quote "This file is updated regularly, for the tone junkie who just can never get enough..." unquote Tis all again for now
I was just thinking that today, I hate the duplicates!![]()
How can one DL that zip, and better navigate it, or clean it up?
Is this Line6 edit thing the answer?
Can/should I use that if i have PodStudioUx1 w/ PodFarm?
If there is 6 of the same patch from 2005 to 2009
I only want the 2009 file, right?
It is all about organization.
The WORST part is, once I have the zip,
and Im looking at 12,000+ tones (folders for xt,live, pro, pocket, and 2.0)
The "Date Modified" is the day I unzipped the folder,
and I can only tell latest version from id_###
Bump
Another month is in the past update and bump
Happy Labor Day weekend and bump.
Middle of month bump
I guess Scanner will be glad to get a little help, so here's a big fat BUMP!!!
BUMP BUMP !!
Yo, we have an anniversary. Today it's 6 month since this thread was started! Will it take 6 years for Line 6 to fix this? ![]()
Well, the anniversary party was pretty lame..... , Lame 6 so to speak.![]()
Sorry I have not responded lately. I have read every single comment as it comes in, I just didn't have any concrete update to give. What I can say is that we are working on it and I hope we are close, but for obvious reasons I won't give a date, I made that mistake and every time one of your comments comes in, I am bummed.
Thanks!
As we are bummed by the lack of any progress Sorry Angela dont take it personally
Yep, what Scanner said, don't take it the wrong way Angela. Truth is that I'm a firm believer in handcrafting my own tones and don't really use Custom Tone. I just stumbled on this thread and I got a bit mad reading it, those issues shouldn't take longer than two weeks or so to fix......
Cheers, Hans
1st of month bump Oct
Yo Scanner, you beat me to it.![]()
Bump
No, bummed again! They're obviously not able to fix it, or not interested in it. Better take it positive, though, as 99% of the tones in there won't help you anyway: typically way too much gain, treble (or bass or midrange mud or all of them) and too many and too loud FX, so they'll never work in a mix. The remaining 1% might be useable as a starting point, but you have to tweak 'em to suit your guitar, playing technique and the mix at hand, so.....You're much better off making your own tones right from the start, saves you a lot of time and nerves.
Cheers, Hans
Agree with ya there but its the principle of them promising and not delivering Per FAQ Can I get all the Tones at once? You can download all the Tones from the Public Tone Exchange, sorted by product, in this ZIP file. Once downloaded, unzip the file, navigate to the location of the unzipped file using the left list of Line 6 Edit's Tone Locker window, and you'll be able to open any of the Tones that are compatible with your Line 6 device. This file is updated regularly, for the tone junkie who just can never get enough...
Regularly appears to be just whenever it suits them or better yet not at all.
Hey there,
I want you all to know we are hearing every word of it and things are in the works. We are working on more than the zip, so that's where the delays come in, but the zip is part of that and I am in the process of seeing if that can go sooner without the rest of the updates.
Even though I can't make promises, because things come up and things change, but I can say it is in the works and I will post as soon as it is live.
Thanks for your patience,
Line6Angela
Thank you maam for the update!!!
I see where the zip is larger but im sure that tones in it are still dupes (space wasters) and wanted to thank you Angela for what you have done in the meantime I will continue to monitor for further updates !!!!
hi
i can't manage to get the pod xt live tones only.it doesn't appear in the selected product
Why?
thanks for the answer
wow i downloaded that .ZIP a few years ago and when i came back today to update my tone library i find its gone/hidden somewhere.Instead theres this excellent discussion here.....and i agree BUMP
What happened to all the custom tone down loads was a ton up but now seems most of them are gone .Hope this isnt a permanant thing ?
Where are the tones for the new POD HD (HD500)?
I miss them in the file (*.h5e).
Please include these tones.
kr Frank
All Tones for HD-Series are missing!
And the file wasn't updated since 2009...
Like Scanner112000 I reported to Line6 serveral times to update the download-File. It's a shame for Line 6-Support that they can't fix this problem within almost 5 (!!!) years.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
