XT live and Spider Valve query

Hi there,
I'm sure someone will know the answer to this potential query I have.
I'm thinking of purchasing a Spider Valve 212, it looks the biz and have heard great things about it.
My question is can I use my XT live to control the Spider Valve?
I run a stereo set-up currently (XT live into a Marshall 2X12 and then into separate Fender 1X10)
which gives me a great expansive sound.
The Fender is a bit lacking sometimes plus I'd like to use a variety of clean/crunch/distorted sounds
for both amps simultaneously.
Would I be able to use the MIDI out on the XT live into the MIDI in on the Spider to control program changes?
Cheers folks !
Whilst I'm sure this is possible I would like to point out a different but potentially very serious problem with that setup. I recently ran my PODXT live into a spider amp at a rehearsal room. I tweaked all the settings; tone correction, set it to stack front and cranked the output. I was greeted with an incredibly weak signal that couldnt be heard over the drums. Everything at 10 and it didnt cut it. I havent had that problem running into marshall or vox amps so it must have been the spider! I didnt try using the studio direct setting in front of the amp, so maybe this would help but i doubt it. There was also no effect return on the spider, so that wasnt an option. I was shocked to find that line 6 gear would be so incompatible! Buyer beware.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
