M13 Feature Requests

I put in an official feature request, but want to mention it here too.
I'm controlling the M13 and a JCM2000 with a Behringer FCB1010 midi controller. A few M13 changes would make it much easier.
1. Is a global volume pedal possible? It was mentioned on another thread that global compressor would be impossible due to hardware limitations. What about volume?
2. Can the loop volume be assigned a Midi CC #? Then all looper features could be midi controlled.
These 2 features would save me from having to use an external volume pedal (so an FX slot is not wasted for volume) and an additional expression pedal (for the loop vol). I could then control everything from the FCB1010 and its 2 onboard expression pedals.
Just got the M13 and have to say thanks to Line6 for another AMAZING product!

Great to see you around KC!!
Not sure if it suits you, but there is the possibility of just running your volume pedal between the guitar and the input, or putting the volume pedal after the output.
I know what you mean...those slots are precious once you get into it!!! I could use another couple sometimes!
Hey Stumpsout, guess you have an M13 too!
Gonna have to use my Ernie Ball volume pedal after the M13, but would rather use one of the FCB1010's expression pedals just to keep the stage clear(er). Right now those 2 FCB1010 expression pedals are unused except for occassional wah. Then I have the Line6 EX-1 pedal for loop vol. and Ernie Ball for overall volume. Too many pedals!
Thanks for the help though.

Hi KC, long time no see! Someone smarter than me recently suggested assigning the expression pedal to one of the stomp pedals in front, and using that as a substitute for a volume pedal. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm usually running either an OD or compressor, so I think it would work for me w/o using a slot. I thought 4 slots would be plenty, but with all the amazing things in the M13 I'm wishing it had 6, lol. Otherwise I absolutely love this thing.
Cheers,
Fester2k
Hey Fester. Guess you, stumpsout & I just buy everything Line6 puts out!
Thanks for the idea. It's not ideal but might work for now.
I love the M13 too. There are so many great features you hate to request even more. ![]()

If i understand you fester, what your saying is to assign and Expression pedal to control level/volume/gain to a compressor or distortion or other stomp box in FX1 or 2 position.
Also, if using an outboard in-line EB Jr is "best" to run in front of or after the M13?
Here is my intent: I use an Egnator 4112 Tourmaster that has four seperate channels ranging from ultra clean to dirty dirty....effects loop can be switched to serial or parallel.....I can go in front of the amp because, my intent, is not to use any distortions of the M13, only delays, mods, filters and reverbs....If i do use the amps effects loop it would be guitar in front of amp so as to maintain the amps four seperate preamps, and the M13 through the loop which has both send and return level adjustments. Soooo, where do I put my passive volume pedal???????
Thanks,
Mike
The volume pedal is usually the last thing in the signal path. Place it after the M13 going in to the fx return.

If you put the volume pedal after the M13 in your effects loop you will kill the delay trails when using volume pedal.
Personally I like my volume pedal to act like my guitar volume knob BEFORE all my distortion etc... that way when I lower the volume pedal the amount of distortion lowers. not for everyone...
You could also put it before the M13 in the efx loop and then you would still have your delay trails but not affect your distortion.
So... there's not really any "usual" place to put a volume pedal, it just depends on what you want it to do.
I second your request for global volume and midi cc# for loop volume, by the way
Folks, forgive me if I'm talkng out of the wrong end--I've just got an M13 and using these discussions to get a grip--but couldn't the volume pedal be put in the FX send/return loop? I ack that it may need some sort of cable splitter/adaptor, but...
How about....an arpegiator! That would be pretty awesome!!!!!
The smart harmony and pitch glide are fantastic. An arpegiator effect could just build off the programming of one of those effects perhaps and change pitch over time to match a scale.
1 knob could control the tempo
1 knob could change the scale type
1 knob could change pattern (up, down, up & down, or random)
1 knob could change number of notes in the arpegiator
Don't know if that is possible to add this effect, but it would be really really cool!
Whoa! I did a YouTube search to see if any Arpegiator effects pedals even exist yet. Check out what I found- this is exactly what I had in mind!
It looks like someone modified a Line 6 pedal and converted it into....you guessed it....an Arpegiator!
man, that is awesome.... feature request time....
These are all good suggestions.
Get them put in over here http://line6.com/company/contact/productFeedback
I will find out about the midi control for the volume on the looper, are you sure it doesn't have one?
Hello,
We will close this question as you have been referred to the correct location for feature requests, but please feel free to continue the conversation.
Just an update...
While there is no specific CC#, you can control the Looper Volume by assigning a midi controller to CC#1 (Expression Pedal 1) or CC#2 (Expression Pedal 2), then assigning the looper volume to the same pedal. DUH! ![]()
