Tonecore DSP Development Kit Powerup Problem

Hi,

I recently received the Tonecord DSP kit, (order number 855358), and am unable to powerup the unit.

I have installed the software, (.NET framework as well), and have tried using a 9V battery as well as a 9VDC AC adapter, (with + ground), connecting the 1/4" audio jack to the input and then connecting the supplied USB cable. However I get no indication that a device is plugged into the USB by Windows XP, (no USB driver install prompt as expected), neither from the "ToneCore DSP Developer Kit - v1.0" software. Should I expect the LED t lite up on the Tonecore box as well?

Please Help,

Jim Feeler

Re: Tonecore DSP Development Kit Powerup Problem

    Hi Jim,

I had a similar problem once when I tried to use a stereo plug connected to the input to power up the device. A mono connector is essantial to switch the internal power supply. Any of the two stereo inputs works with a single mono plug conneted to it.

If you are not sure how to connect the external power supply, please use a 9V battery firstly (I started with this).

The SDK software has to be installed firstly before connecting the Tonecore pedal. A simple hardware test is to power the device and the switch the foot pedal over the arrester until you hear a click. Then the green LED should be illuminated. I you get this working with the battery try to run the device using the external power supply (Line6 is offering one that is configured properly).

If you connect a working device to a computer with an installed SDK by the USB cable the driver installation should start - otherwise the USB connection is bad. Without any installation the pedal should work with the program it is shipped with - this is the Two Band Stereo EQ. Use your guitar to see if the effect is working before trying to reprogram the effect.

    Best regards

    Christian
