Karl,
Where are we at with this at this point? Has Andy been working with you on this?
Line6Miller
Yes, he has. The next time I'm going to be able to troubleshoot this with all pertinent devices in the same room is this coming Thursday. More to come then.
OK great. Keep us in the loop.

Only ran into the problem once tonight at rehearsal. And it didn't seem to have any correlation with anything. Our singer didn't have his wireless mic on, but we tried it and that didn't seem to affect anything. There was no RF light on anyone's unit before powering the transmitters. My unit dropped out once, and that was when the RX2 light wasn't lit. Powering my transmitter off then on again fixed the problem. Bass player says he thinks he may have had one dropout. We switched transmitters briefly and didn't notice any problem.
I'm at a loss here. We had terrible dropouts once at rehearsal and once at a gig. Now, not much since then. What gives? I never had any problems with my unit until now.
I never received an answer to my question as to whether you had tried different channel combinations?
In any event I see three possibilities ... you have intermittent gear failure, line of sight issues or near/far issues. I'm betting on the last one, but they are all difficult to determine. If it works by itself with no other X2's on that tends to rule out gear failure. Are your antennas near any metal .. maybe your pedalboard has a metal valence? I think it's most likely that you've experienced near/far problems. They happen if you get far enough away compared to another X2 unit getting too close. If your bassist wanders over to your pedalboard and you wander away this can happen.
When you switched transmitters did you also swap channels?
Yes, we swapped channels and transmitters.
What's strange about this issue is it didn't start happening until that XDR95 was introduced. Before that, my XDS Plus played well either by itself or with another XDS Plus that used to be in our band. So long as the XDR95 isn't in the same room, my unit works great.
I'm not sure how it could be a near/far issue when I'm less than 10 feet from the receiver. Surely the unit has better range than that? I've been pretty far out into the crowd before with no dropouts at all. And I have been on stage with as many as 6 other traditional wireless UHF units. No problem.
Being on stage with UHF mics has absolutely nothing to do with it because they are on different bands. Besides our digital system rejects all analog RF anyway.
I thought we were talking about interference between you and the bass player. Now I'm seeing a reference to a vocalist's wireless. What is that?
Was there a problem last night ... I'm not clear.
I think you should contact service and send in the system so it can be checked. That's the only way we will know if it has become intermittent. Then we can go from there.

Yes, there definitely was some kind of interference with the bassist's unit. But Andy had me list all of the other wireless items on stage too, just to be sure. Hey, we noticed that the problem seemed to go away somewhat when the one vocal wireless wasn't present, but that may not have been the case. Just a guess. The reference to the singer's wireless was in a phone call between Andy and I.
Look, Mr. Boomer, I don't know how much more clear I can get. But I'm just not liking your tone right now. Product manager or not.
For what it's worth, this is my next to last piece of Line6 gear that I own, and I used to own a lot of your stuff. I am a long time user. Don't make it so that I'll regret owning even this.
Karl ... there's no tone happening. You haven't seen it because I have been doing the writing ... but I have had the chief wireless engineer monitor these communications and I am trying to answer all his questions. We just wanna get you up and running with the minimum hassle. Unfortunately "tone" doesn't really come across on short posts.
The possibilities are always the same, gear failure, line of sight issues and near/far issues for any X2 problems. If I had the units here I could troubleshoot them but across the internet it is very difficult to troubleshoot without very specific details.
As I said, we need to get your unit here to check for gear failure so we can rule that out or fix it.
I would like to get you up and running. Please call service and we can rule out of fix the gear failure issue.
Just got back from a gig tonight. Not a single problem the entire evening. No dropouts at all. Both lights stayed on. Weird that it happened at two different locations just a couple of weeks ago.
So, whose unit do we ship back? My XDS+ or the bass player's XDR95?
I think we need to see yours. Isn't it the only one that has dropouts?
If they are all dropping out from time to time it is much less likely there is a problem in any of them. I mean you "could" have to or three bad ones, but that is highly unlikely, but it is possible. If it is just one receiver then it IS possible that you may have one of the two frequency receivers weak. Normally you don't need both receivers. But if you are having a combination of any of the three possible faults I laid out then that's where the second receiver kicks in. If yours isn't up to snuff that "could" be the problem.
Intermittent problems are very difficult to solve ... especially when you don't have all the gear right in front of you. That's why I've been pushing for very specific answers.
Call the service dept on Monday and get a ticket set up.
Yes, my unit exhibited the most severe problems, but the bass player did have one or two dropouts of his own. Not nearly like mine did, though. I will set up a ticket. Although I think Andy already has something open from me. I'll call him and we'll go from there.
And I'm sorry. The whole situation is frustrating to me because this has been such an exemplary piece of gear.
Karl,
Did the singer's wireless change anything? I remember there were a couple variables so I wanted to see if that situation changed anything.
We didn't even keep his on last night. But while he was using it for a little bit, there was no conflict. We made sure there was no RF on any of the channels we selected.
Please see other thread. Need status of RMA, and can't access the ticket because it is closed.
Karl - check your ticket now.
