hi i have inherited my line6 flextone 3 from my deceased grandfather, i have downloaded the line6 monkey and line 6 edit and niether will recognize my product. i registered it but the serial number identifies it as a flextone 3 xl ((21)f3x1p5535002877) by the input it only says flextone iii. i registered it as a flextone 3 xl but with it being registered that way the software still does not recognize the correct amp. can you please help me? thank you!

Hello,
It looks like your Flextone is registered correctly.
Your software issues should have nothing to do with registration.
Can you tell me exactly what kind of MIDI to USB interface you are using to connect to your computer?
Also, what are your computer specs and what versions of Line 6 software do you have installed on your computer? What software are you trying to connect to specifically?

its an m-audio connector, im using vista 32 bit, comp is def. powerful enough with a dual core and 3 gigs ram, the lights on the midi interface come on indicating usb is in but no midi in or out, and using line6 edit 3.0, still no luck
my biggest concern is that when i choose the flextone 3 from the drop down menu in registration the first numbers in the serial that it defaults are: 21FT3 , and the first numbers on my amp are: 21FX3, but my amp is only the flextone 3, i promise lol
Flex 3, 3+ and 3XL all use the exact same firmware....The only differences?
Flex 3, mono 60 watt power amp...No XLR outs
Flex 3+ and 3XL are actually the exact same amp...stereo 150 watt and have XLR outs....The only difference is that the XL has two 12s and the + has one...Is it still a Flextone III?
BTW-My condolances about your grandpa...
And... do NOT use Line6 Monkey with the FLEX series... known issues with firmware updates, and it does not support patch editing on the Flex.
Save yourself some headaches, and remove it from your PC if the Flex is the only L6 product you currently have !!
Use the Line6 Edit for "deep" patch editing [or tweakwiz from vettaville.nl]. Both will allow you to backup your patches. Line6 Monkey does backups on the Flex, but the resulting file is unuseable.
Nor do you need to register the Flex to have L6Edit work for you.
and. welcome.
Hello,
As mentioned by our community members here, you do not need Line 6 Monkey for your amp. All you need is Line 6 Edit.
What happens exactly when you try to connect your amp to Line 6 Edit?
