Why does gearbox want me to be deaf?

I have tried my Toneport UX2 on an HP laptop, my macbook pro (with leopard, now snow leopard, XP, now windows 7 - bootcamp) and my home desktop (quad core intel). Without fail i get extremely loud spikes of white noise/static every 15-30 seconds that are 3x or more louder than the guitar itself. No matter what computer, what OS, what version of gearbox/monkey i have i ALWAYS get this. Is there anything I can do to fix this so i can use this product? It's been mostly collecting dust over the years, this is my last chance to use it before i give up.
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

I reinstalled all the drivers (again). When it reinstalled it made the Toneport my default audio driver. I'm sitting here doing nothing (but typing this message) and i get a periodic static burst through my speakers...
Hello,
I've never heard of white noise issues on Macs. I can tell you that we don't support our software on machines running any virtual OS IE: Boot Camp but that still should not give you white noise.
On PC's white noise is mostly due to incompatibility with certain chip sets. The best and most effective workaround is to install a PCMCI USB card on your laptop to bypass using the USB buses on your mother board.
Here's an FAQ that calls this out.

In regards to your Mac, are you getting loud bursts or pops and clicks?
