Gearbox plug-in not working in QAM Promise

Howdy. I'm running a Guitar Port, Line Monkey 1.31, Gearbox 3.7 and QAM Promise 4.60. When I activate an auxilary channel in Promise and select the any of the VST Gearbox plug-ins (Mono, Mono Stereo, Stereo), and then go into the plug-in UI, I can see the Gearbox UI as I'd expect, and can use it just as if I was running Gearbox directly through my Guitar Port. However, for whatever reason, the plugin itself is not actually working - when I select any tone, or tweak with the effects and settings of a tone, it has no change whatsoever in the tone that Promise plays back (which is the tone and effects that I used to originally record the guitar signal).

 

The other plug-ins seem to work just fine in Promise. The one thing I'm wondering about is the fact that the Gearbox plug-in UI does have a message in the bottom right half that says:

Do I need to purchase Gearbox separately as a plug-in?

    Kind of figured out the answer for myself. I also have the Pod Farm (PF) 1.11, and in poking around the site, I saw that I should have had the plug-in for that as well. I took a look at my PF and realized that the plug-in DLL file was in the wrong directory. I moved it over and, sure enough, the PF plug-in showed up. And it works. So I'm now able to do the thing that I really wanted to do, which was to record a dry signal and then mess with it afterwards (still don't know if the plug-in effects get included in a final recording, but that's something else entirely).

     

    There are things about the Gearbox UI that I prefer over the PF UI, but I've learned enough from the other threads and trying to solve this on my own to know that the Gearbox plug-in is no longer available, and that pretty clearly the version I had did not include the plug-in functionality. It installed the plug-in DLL, but didn't activate it, which was a little confusing (I always say, if I don't get the functionality, don't give me the files), but, that's cool. I figured it out, and I have my answer.
