Help Please: Setting up a  'Toneport KB37' with my PC.

Hi, All...

I would appreciate some help in the basics of getting this setup with my PC.

Initially I want to get the software installed, so I can record from a mic & a guitar

Ive just bought a  'Toneport KB37' and it came with software: Live Lite 5 Rev:C  + Gearbox V3 Rev:E

Ive downloaded the (following) only .pdf manuals, that seem to relate to the Toneport,

but they dont seem to explain what I need to do first ????

POD Studio & TonePort MIDI Setup Guide (Rev B) - English.pdf

MIDI Continuous Controller Reference (Rev E) - English.pdf

Hoping you can help.

Many thanks

    Hi,

That software is outdated. Please download this bundled installer (GearBox 3.70) here: http://line6.com/software/readeula.html?rid=2423

It will install the USB drivers, Monkey and GearBox applications. The CD's version may not install on a newer Vista computers.

      Regards,

      L6Perry

As you have not registered your product or completed your support profile, we can provide limited support at this time.  You do not need to purchase the gearbox plugin (which is no longer available).  If you want to use a plugin for use is a recording application you can purchase the POD Farm plugin at the following link:

Please go the following link to download/install the latest Gearbox software for your Operating System, which also includes the Line 6 monkey intelligent updater and the latest drivers for your Line 6 product.

    Hello,

I'll try to make this as simple as I can.

      1. Download Gearbox version 3.7 from our downloads page. The version you received is old and you need to update it.

      2. Once Gearbox has been downloaded and installed launch it. You mentioned you'd like to record guitar and vocals at once right? If so, please read this FAQ. It outlines in detail how to set this up with Ableton Live.

      http://line6.com/community/docs/DOC-4401

      3. In regards to the plug in. Gearbox plug in has been discontinued. It was never sold as a bundle with the older TonePorts like the one you have. It was a separate product and therefore required a separate purchase. Now, if you want to use Gearbox as a plug in then what you should do is download POD Farm 1.11 instead of Gearbox 3.70. The stand alone app is a free download on our software downloads page but you still have to pay for the plug in.

Here's a good video tutorial on what the differences are between the POD Farm stand alone app and POD Farm as a plug in.

Please let me know if this answer has been helpful.

perhaps you could take a screen print of the error select the window the error is displayed in and press the alt key and the Prt Sc key.  then paste into a word doc and upload it here, then we can see what you mean.

      1) Yes - You need to reinstall Gearbox 3.70.

      2) Yes - Gearbox will work without the plug in.

Please see the previous links for more installation tips, and close out the ticket as “answered” when your situation has been resolved.
