Hooking a mic up to the HD500

Hey guys, STILL love this thing. Steadily tweaking away.

I have two questions..

I saw there were voice FX with a microphone on the HD500. How do I go about plugging the mic up and getting it to work? I hooked my mic up to the back of the "mic in" but could never get any sound out of it. I've looked at a few guides posted on here but never saw anything about "enabling" the mic.

Also, how would I go about using the mic FX in a live setting? I play in a small cover band. Right now my mic is going straight to the mix then comes out of the PA speakers. Is there any way to use my mic with my pod to have the mic FX but still go through my PA like normal?

THanks guy!

Re: Hooking a mic up to the HD500

To use a mic on the HD500:

    - you need a dynamic mic; the HD500 does not provide phantom power

    - connect the Mic to the Mic input on the HD500

    - select MIC as an Input for the preset

    - adjust the Mic Trim knob beside the Mic input on the HD500 until you get a good incoming signal level

    - apply your desired FX to the preset

To use the Mic with your HD500 and the PA, connect the Mic to the HD500 as above and connect the HD500 outputs to your PA inputs. Set the HD500 output to Studio mode.
