WHAT ARE YOUR FAV. GO TO FX

Hi guys, forgive me if this has been asked before but I have had HD500 for 6months now and while I like the amp tones, I am growing tired of the same kinda wash many of the FX seem to impart.

While there are alot to choose from and I admit to not fully exploring them all yet but some aren't that good sounding while a few are acceptible in their preset status and some can be usefull with some work.

Have you found any gems in there that require a few tweakes?

If you have any tips and tricks you would like to share that you have found to be the ticket.

Me, I mostly like the sceamer, spring verb and ping delay the most. As I said I like pretty well most of the Amps and have no trouble getting a good tone from any of them.

I play many genres of rock.

    Do you plug into an amp, PC or headphones?

        Hello,

        Gems? I don't know about that but put this in yer patch and smoke it:

        I also use the 4CM; HD settings are; FX return set to amp, Guitar in set to normal, XLR to ground, 1/4' out set to line, master volume between 4 or 5 (at 5 the level is near true to my amp without the HD500) I use a Marshall MG100HDFX with the OD channel set as nasty as possible with the master volume set to 1. The rear of my amp has a button to select -10db which is line level, if you don't have this feature maybe set 1/4" out to amp. Here is the patch chain starting from the first block location; Noise Gate (default), Wah (blacked out), Emty block, Classic dist (35/50/84/50/55), I then split the signal. The top row is the FX loop block with the return set to +5 (again this setting keeps my pre-amp volume true), the amp sim is disabled. The bottom row has a treadplate with default cab set to; DRV 60, Bass 83, Mid 68, Treb 83, Pres 65, Vol 50. The mixer is all 0's. Graphic Eq; +2.9, +1.3, -0.2, -2.4, +3.9, empty block, Delay (blacked out). Internally my HD settings are; Input 1 Guitar, Input 2 Variax, Output; Stack pwr amp.

                                                       FXblock=xxx||

        Comp=WAH=emty=Dist<                                 ||=EQ=empty=Delay=Looper

                                                       Treadplate    ||

        This patch is a puppy, I'm just now getting knuckle deep into the HD, plug this patch in and post your opinion. Thanks

    There's two clean ones I like are:

    http://line6.com/customtone/tone/208422/

    and

    http://line6.com/customtone/tone/215522/

    For distortion I don't mind

    http://line6.com/customtone/tone/211423/

    and

    http://line6.com/customtone/tone/218668/

    I'm still not entirely convinced with the distortion ones so plan to build my own when I get some time, will also look into building my own clean sound.
