Who wants a Left-Handed Variax 700 Guitar ??? Voice Your Opinion Here!

My feeling is that if enough of us lefty's make our desires known here that Line 6 would be foolish not to manufacture a Left-Handed version of the Variax 700.
So ... lets hear from you guys & gals!
ALSO - Very Important - Be sure to post improvements you would like to see and other models you would like to see added to the collection.
I for one, I would like the Gretsch Anniversary model added to the collection along with the Hagstrom Swede. Could also use a Hamer, An Ibanez, BC Rich, and ESP LTD models as well. What about adding the Floyd Rose locking Tremelo?
Since the Variax 700 is a modeling guitar, how about completing the model by incorporating a Roland GK-3 pickup and making the Variax a Roland-ready synthesized guitar as well? Currently Fender is the only Roland Ready Guitar that I am aware of and the Fender comes with the older GK-2A. The NEW GK-3 divided pickup can provide you with a different instrument sound on every string for an exciting full body synthesized sound.
Ok, that's my 2-cents worth! If we get enough other lefty players to voice their interest here, I'm sure we'll see a left-handed Variax in the not too distant future!
Rally Round Now Folks - Let Line 6 Know How You FEEL about this!

I suggest Line6 to re-issue a lefty model of variax, at least a 500 like (with a nicer body?
): in eBay a lefty variax is as rare as expansive.
IMHO lots of lefty user would upgrade happily to a 700 model, a much nicer giutar.
Line6 should also consider the market of customization: to give users the possibility to create a unique instrument in body and sound would be simply great: without pickups there's room for serigraph, paintings and so on... Try to give a nice designer the task to study possibilities to make a really cool instrument, I think your users would be amazed.
On the sound side I hope you'll fix some bug (like unwanted noise around 4th fret) ad give us some other guitar model -really rare ones. I also hope for a better 12 string modelling and a wider range of acoustics. Some modern sounding guitar would be also cool: I wouldn't try to have Ibanez, hamer (since these guit have no real color) but a brand new model to squeeze all the hi-gain models of pods...
Also a dual tone guitar would blow everythig away...
In the end, if you Line6 don't want to consider tha instrument customization because of economics and industrial politicies please give your user a "Variax GUTS kit" so we can make the work by ourself...
I was at product demo for the Variax 300 WAY BACK in 2005. I thought it was a unique product, but having just bought a new guitar, I wasn't in the market for another.
Fast forward a few years, and I have been giving the Variax a renewed look. As a lefty however, I am very disappointed that I can't buy a newer model as a lefty, nor can I find an old one to buy anywhere. They are like hen's teeth!
As a musician exploring alternate tunings in many forms, the flexibility of the Variax would be a massive advantage. I can play a righty "upside down", but it isn't the same (trust me, been there, done that).
I would love for Line6 to offer a left model. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Thanks.
Personally I would buy a left handed 700 today. Too often left handed players are ignored by most manufacturers. Gibson would not make a left handed EDS 1250. Fender wouldn't do a left hand VG (now defunct as I understand), even the Tony Iommi SG (Tony himself a left handed guitarist) is missing from the line-up. ANd it's not just the top names many others shy away from the left handed market.
It is enormusly frustrating over the past 30 years spending my spare weekends looking in guitar shops, second hand shops and online to try to find a guitar. I would suggest that a guitar such as the Variax 700 with it's guitar emulations is MORE appealing to left handed players than the right handed group. The right handed players are far more likely to find 3 or 4 of the real guitars offered by the Variax than we left handers.
I have invested over the years in Line 6 amplification (Spider II HD and cabinets and recently the Spider Valve 212) and have always believed they build a quality product. As a long term Line 6 advocate, I'd hope they would respond to their community and to the left handed players.
I'm a KB37 TONE PORT user, excelente product for me ALL in ONE, I wish a VARIAX 700 LEFT HAND MODEL, please, only in the first month you send 1.000 in USA if you promote.
I propose you LINE6 STAFF to make a WEB SITE for VOTE user if interesting and pre PAY VARIAX 700 LEFTY HAND MODEL, or something like this.
Let us enjoy other great product from you!!! think about it ![]()
I just wanted to mention also that there is now an alternative to the Variax 700 for Left-Handed players. No, it's not a guitar modeler but, it is a custom made left-handed guitar that features piezo, and Midi connections in addition to the normal 1/4" jack and that is the NEW Carvin SH575 MIDI Synth Access Semi-Hollow Carved Top Guitar which Carvin does custom make in a left-handed model on demand. It's a little more expensive but, for what you can do with sound from this guitar it should be well worth it. Check it out at Carvin.com
HI LINE6 STAFF, I' want enjoy a beautiful VARIAX ACOUSTIC LEFT HAND 700, please, make and limited edition, pre-order, to garantize the sells
, ask to your registered customers and see it what happened. For christmas until 2012 jajajaja

I tried to find some old info on when Line6 stopped making their left handed Variax...Googling only showed me lefty 500s -- so they made them once (can't recall if they ever made the 700 - left handed) and most likely based on demand had to discontinue them...right around the time they stopped production of the Variax 5 string bass as I recall.
but
-- you can have a left handed guitar modeler a couple of ways since Line6 will not accommodate you right now;
as dmlabuda points out, there is the CarvinSH575 option
or
you can get in touch with a couple of guys who used to be around the variax forum here
Jeff Miller
http://www.guitaristjeffmiller.com/guitars.htm
or
midirose; Guitars by Rose W
and have them custom build you a lefty Variax
just look at their work
or
you can accomplish virtually the same outcome as the Carvin SH575 with any left handed guitar to your liking and build quality while adding the Roland VG-99 and a GK-3 pick up. I tried the VG-99 for just under a month and I did need to purchase the Roland midi foot controller which all cost about $2000 to utilize the GK-3 pickup already installed on 2 of my guitars. ($1400 for the VG-99, $400 for the FC-300 midi foot controller and a stand and a carry bag). If I had the money to burn I would have kept it at the risk of spending practice and play time spinning virtual knobs with the free Roland editing software. I ended up returning the VG and midi controller just because I wanted to play more and better and knew that I would be spending way too many hours tweaking instead of playing - decided to just go with my Variax 300 and 600s...I was surprised to find the VG-99 to be a wonderful competitor to the Variax with very convincing modling (IMHO) based on reviews that I had read against it here on the Variax forum. And you could do dual modeled guitars with it as well as dual amps because the unit basically has Boss' GT-10 inside it...the parameters with the VG-99 seemed endless and that wasn't even factoring in the GR-20 synth that I already have.

That Carvin guitar looks sweet - watched some of the vids...didn't catch the price though.
Like most custom made guitars the price on the Carvin SH575 varies depending on what you want built in to it. The range is around $1,800 on the low side to probably around $3,000 on the high side. I used the custom build program at their web site to walk through what I would want to order and came up with around $2,600 for the guitar of my choice. By comparison, I have always looked to the Gretch Anniversary Model Guitar as my ultimate choice of weapons and they range in price from around $2,500 to $3,700 so, I've switched gears and my choice is now the Carvin SH575. Too bad the Line 6 Variax 700 is not a choice for left-handers at the moment. I will look into the custom build Variax options you mentioned in your post.
That would be me too....
Add me to the list of people who wants (has to have) one. I'd buy one today if it was available.
I hit lucky. I managed to find an a second hand 500 leftie variax that seems to be in excellent condition. It was advertised as a left-handed bass variax, but the picture was that of a black 500. It's perfect for my needs. The freakiest thing is to be able able to flick the switch and change the tuning.
I know that's no help to all of you looking for one, but it does show that they are out there. It's the second one I discovered in the last couple of weeks ( I missed the first one by days) However, if Line 6 were to produce a 700 leftie, I would still consider it. As would my fellow band member, who is also a leftie (are there any other bands out there with two or more left-handed guitarists?)
Cheers

Left handed option in all Variax models, please!
I have been posting and calling about this for a couple of years. Lefty's have very limited opportunity to own ANY of the guitars that are modeled on the Variax. I own a lefty 500 and would purchase IMMEDIATELY a 700, especially if it is offered in all colors (would probably buy 2) and a Variax Acoustic as well. It is interesting to me that there are several threads on this issues and yet NOT ONE comment fro the staff who I know monitor this community. C'mon Line 6, if all of the other manufactures can offer lefty's in at least some of their models, why can't you? Sgin me up for 2 700's and an Acoustic. Money is in hand ready to be delivered, even at RETAIL (cringe).
This is rediculous. This is crazy, beyond comprehension.
There is a whole bunch of people in line 6 responsible for market research and they are completely blind!
It took me 5 minutes to count hundreds of players dedicated to buy lefty variax this instant. I have even found web site created by us, forgotten and ****** guitarist. Do we really have to start a huger-strike at their gates to bring their attention? I mean, it's a long way from Poland and i may have problems taking my stike banner with me..
How is that possible? Can anybody have a reasonable argument? Isn't it profitable, or what? How can it not be? There is a quite big market of people like us, not like righ-handed folks, ready and waiting to buy it RIGHT NOOOOOW! Please stop ignoring us! I won't my line 6 in shop next month!
And just in case i have missed something - do some line 6 officials EVER made a statement WHY THEY DON'T GIVE A FUDGE ABOUT US?
Come on Line 6...I own a lefty 500 and have drooled over the 700 acoustic ever since it came out. My right handed mate has one and it's awesome...
You wouldn't be able to deny us on the grounds of race or religion so why ignore us because we are lefties??This is discrimination!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want one, and I want one NOW
Yes, yes, Yes.
Please Line6, lets have a lefty Variax700.
I would order one tomorrow.
I don't understand Line 6. Every major guitar manufacturer that is taken seriously always has a left-handed option. It's as if Line 6 is saying to thousands of loyal left-handed customers that go ahead keep buying our pod pros, amplifiers, software, stomp boxes, etc but too bad about our guitars. What a lack of loyalty and it speaks volumes that apparently Line 6 doesn't think they'll make "enough" money from left-handed players. It makes you think twice about being a loyal customer. I think Line 6 should start hiring musicians instead of greedy marketing and sales people.
Dave
hello line6
please now you have a real super guitar like the jtv bring it out in lefthanded version i
am sure many lefthanded players would buy one .
best regards k-thomas
I have a lefty 500 that is usable, but not a very good guitar. Now it's getting old and worn out and won't last much longer. I would love it if any model were available lefty. Especially the latest and greatest. I would buy one today - right now - where do I sign up?!
Yes! Please! Line 6 - a left handed variax 700. I'd pre-order and pay before it was made.
I own a left Variax 500 and would have bought a 700 if Line 6 had made them. But now I'd prefer a left-handed JTV-59...and again, they'll probably never make one. Very disappointing. I voiced my opinion about the discrimination against left-handed guitarists and my vote for a new lefty Variax in another post. Here it is:
I could go for a lefty JTV-59US. RIGHT NOW! ![]()
I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It was very disappointing to find out that as usual, the lefty community is passed by....too bad, but we should all be used to it by now.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
