Pops/crackling in Windows XP, no pops/crackling in Windows 7

Hi. I'll try to specify the problem the best I can (English makes it a bit harder
). I've just filled my profile, so I'm not going to specify my computer once again..
When I bought the Toneport UX2, I was using Windows XP SP3. After installing the device (drivers, etc.) I realised that I can hear pops/crackling while using UX2. Even when I turned on the music through audio application (rarely), but mostly! while playing & recording through the UX2 (POD Farm, Ableton Suite 8.1, ...).
Believe me, I was looking for answers everywhere, tried everything I found & nothing helped. Finally, I decided to install Windows 7 64-bit.
That was a good idea. After system & driver installation & running Line 6 Monkey in compatibility mode with XP SP2, everything was all right. At last, I became a happy owner of Toneport.
But.. then I bought a synthesizer: Roland Juno-Di. I hadn't known, that it wouldn't work with 64-bit Windows (it works only with XP & Vista..). I need to use it as a midi keyboard to.
My fault, I should have checked it..
So I had to come back to XP. I've been MAD! I was so close to be really, really happy!
I installed XP once again & I've been experiencing pops/crackling once again. Even when I just turn on the POD farm & play on the Roland or play a set in Ableton (in both cases CPU usage is at level about 3% !!)
I have all updates, newest drivers, correct settings in control panel..
Before playing & recording I disable wireless, antivirus application.. all aplications. I even flashed BIOS!
Still looking for the answer & have no idea why everything is ok with Windows 7 & terrible with XP. I do believe that it can be ok with XP to, but.. don't know what to do..
I really would like to use 7 once again, but as I mentioned - I can't, because of the Roland.
Please help.
Hope I wrote everything what is necessary. If not - let me know, I'll cooperate ![]()
Regards,
murekk
