Pod x3 midi with marshall amp

Is it possible to use the pods midi out to change the channels on a marshall amp head (such as the TSL)?
If so how do i program my patches on the pod to send the correct channel change message to the amp?
For example i would like patch A and B to go through the lead channel and Patch C to go through the chean channel.
I have read a previous thread regarding a spider III which said the pod does send channel change messages via midi to the head, but i do not know if this will work with a marshall and furthermore be programable within each patch.
And if anyone knows of any way to get around this problem any advice would be appreciated. For example i had considered getting a pod x3 pro and a midi pedal controller to change settings on the pod and the amp at once, but it seems like a lot of money for something i would imagine the pod can already do (hopefully!)
Thanks in advance for any help.
you can send midi to any amp...
the problem will be that its all or nothing.
it probably wont work like you want it to, because every pedal will send a midi command to your amp... you also cannot program the midi coming out of the x3 its SET.
meaning that you would be unable to change anything...
so you might find the button that switches your amp channels... but the next button will max your gain, etc...
if you are really interested in this you nee a midi controller of some kind, a midi foot controller would work...
this would allow you to filter commands as well as take a command from the x3 and change it to something useful before sending it to your amp.
sort of a translation device...
I have the X3 Live and a Marshall JVM 215C.
The Marshall can be programmed to react on MIDI signals. The X3Live seems to only send some MIDI signals around.
What I do:
Now I can switch to the correct amp channel and buttons (NOT THE DIALS, ONLY THE BUTTONS) by switching to another patch on the POD.
Beware!
