How can you adjust all Smart-FX independently?

Hi,
I am a proud owner of a Spider IV 120W amp and am just a bit confused on the Smart-FX controls. It seems you cannot adjust "Auto" on the "Gain", "Auto", "Pitch" knob until "Gain" is maxed out. Am I incorrect in thinking you could adjust Gain to 1/2 and then also adjust "Auto" to 1/2? I don't see a way to adjust Auto until Gain is maxed, or to adjust Pitch until both Gain and Auto are both maxed out.
Thanks...
Tim
Congrats on your new purchase. Knob A picks Gain, Auto or Pitch. Unfortunately, you can't use more than one effect on the knob at a time.
Hi,
From the amp itself, you won't be able to do this. The only way you'd be able to make adjustments in a more "independent" manner as you suggested would require you to use an optional FBV Shortboard (or Express) MKII pedal to act as an interface between the Spider IV amp and a host computer.
We have a free software editor program called "Spider IV Edit" that you can download and use as a patch editor on your computer with the amp connected. It lets you make such adjustments "individually", bypassing the need to use the LCD screen and the controls on the amp.
You'll need to make sure your amp's firmware is updated in Monkey. But here's are 2 documents that can explain this more in detail for you:
