blue screen of death when installing drivers for bass pod xt live

Every time I restart my computer I have to reinstall the drivers for my bass pod xt live, during install i get blue screen of death. Is there any way to fix?

System specs: HP Pavillion dv1000 laptop, Win XP w/service pack 3, 512 MB mem, hard drive: 93 GB (32 GB free), Processor: Intel 1.60 GHz

I origionally installed (through Line 6 Monkey) a driver for BasePod Xt Live (which claimed to be compatible with Win XP). Unfortunately the install did

not complete. Did web search and found a special version of driver and install for Win XP.  This install completed normally and the laptop recgnized

the pedal when I plugged it in.  When I rebooted the system and plugged in the pedal, I got Blue Screen of Death.  A reinstall of the driver solved this

problem temporarily, but the Blue Screen appeared again when rebooted the laptop and connected the pedal.

When I installed the older driver, I got a message that I had to install an earlier version of Java.  Has this problem been fixed?

I am fed up with having to reinstall the BassPod Xt Live driver each time I have to restart the laptop.  Any ideas of what the problem could be and how

to resolve it.

Do I need to perform a manual uninstall?  Do you have any documentation on how to do this?

Thank you for any and all help with this issue.
