Hey Neal, would you mind sharing a little more information about how you connected 2 Vettas to a single FBV?  I have 2 Vetta IIs also, and thought about trying this.  Your sound must be MASSIVE with both amps running!  Are you running two different amps on EACH Vetta (so you have a total of four amps at a time)?  If nothing else, I thought I could set up one identically on the other side of the stage, so my other guitarist could hear exactly what I hear on my side, but at a volume level of his own choosing.

Also, did you create a VDI "Y" cable so your Variax signal goes to both amps?

Got the PM, and replied -- thank you very much!

I'll leave it up to the "public" but I'm sure a few other people would like to know about this (quite simple) solution.  Or maybe I'm the only one who couldn't figure it out on his own!  ;^)

Can't wait to hear 4 amps at once!  My band is going to love it (not)!

    Thanks again Neal!

Hey Neal, thanks for doing this. I hope to learn a lot. As far as not being plug and play, I think you nailed it. I did send my HD500 back, but still have a 59 and 69 on pre-order. The DT50 looks too big for my humble needs.

Just think. mags into 2 amps and models into two others. . . . .. .may be crazy cool, or crazy bad. I can't wait to find out. It will probably tick off the crowd that says using dual amps live is silly and certainly the guy tyat says no reverb live;-)

Well, since this is "All things . . . HD500 . . .", some of you might be interested to know that American Musical Supply has some used/dent'n'scratch HD500s in stock right now (Dec.3 2:40 PM MST).  I just ordered one for $399.95 and they had 2 left at the price, plus at least one more at $449.95.  Better jump on it if ya want one!

Now who wants to buy a POD X3 Live cheap?

Spaceatl published how he managed to control 2 amps with a single FBV shortboard a while back in the Spider Valve forum - just do a search for 'It lives' which was part of the thread title.

Just saying that spaceatl posted a solution quite a while ago on controlling 2 Line 6 amps (Spider Valve and Flextone III specifically) by making use of a modified RJ-45 in-line splitter plug and taking power only from one of the amps FBV output but leaving the control pin(s) connected.  It will work with any pair of amps that are compatible with the FBV standard.

The link is here: and it's been posted as a document in Line 6 Lounge  http://line6.com/community/thread/1093

    Neal,

I'm curious, when you send back all your beta test items, will you buy the head or combo when you purchase one if you do decide to purchase one? Reason for/against/no vote?

I think my DT50 head is in and should be here in NJ around Th this coming week. I'll be able to finally post some substantive findings on the HD500-DT50 interface and decide whether a one head solution will suffice for what I want it to do or if two head solution will be a better option for my rig. I just wish that the JTV59 could have come in at the same time to fully test all three together but after reading all the posts in 'the expected date' thread I surmise Jan will be the earliest target date.

That discussion has been been around the world and back and covered just about every minute detail of who in Korea woke up, who showed up for work, how many meals they ate a day, how many bowel movements they had, the unions, the firefight between the two nations, the oceans currents, naval martime laws, line6's policy, line6's silence, line6's wakeup, line6's old course of action, line6's new course of action, who cares, who doesn't care, who is ambivalent, who wants their money back, who doesn't want their money back, what is a headstock, why do we need headstocks, why is it shaped like that, why is it so pretty, why is it so ugly, is it a strat neck, is its a LP neck, is it an Ibanez neck, is it a bird, is it a plane, is it superman's guitar, what is a bass boat, does it need an anchor, the DT50 86lb combo w/o catsers is/is not recommened as a boat anchor, what is a mullet, comparative analysis between a mullet and a douchebag, the new Obama World Order Economics of Doom, and the fact that it now I'm stupid because I ruffled some Obama politically correct drone's feathers. Oh snap! I don't think I can possibly live with myself now. How can I possibly go on? I'm beside myself. I'm having an existential out of body upper room experience.  I am now forced to go take a dump and ponder carefully how I am going to live with myself.

Well I guess the shipping delay and that discusson 2437 posts and associated inbox emails later has been exhuasted to death at this point? In case I missed anything from the expected delay thread, please feel free to start an ad continuum ad nauseum thread so we can all vent some more aggressive testosteroni - ~fuggedaboudit!~

    Be well -

    Hi Neal,

Just joined the thread. I have been following the JTV threads for months (years if we go back to Rich's original variax 2 thread).  I dont post much but read everything.  A JTV 69 and possibly a 89 are on my wishlist for 2011 and i love the hands on unbiased info you give, and the videos you post.

    Keep up the good work.

I am not one of the ruffled feathers people and don't care if you are a rightie or a leftie but this forum and the one where you made the Obama post might not be the appropriate place for political discussion... it would probably be best to open a Line 6 forum specifically devoted to that subject and all those interested could go there to argue it out.

Same with religious talk and possibly a few other subjects that make for unpleasant conversation. People go to war over disagreements on religion and politics, but pretty much never go to war over disagreements on guitars and amplifiers...maybe we should try to keep the discussion on topic re: guitars and amplifiers or at least music oriented.

    Just my opinion.
