    Exactly. You have the OPTION to spend more money for a hard case. It's your choice. As opposed to it being FORCED on me for a higher price with no choice in the matter.

    Strange in that of the MANY hard cases and gig bags I've bought (and sold working at music store for years) I've never seen that correlation. A good hard case was ALWAYS more than a good gig bag. Now maybe if you want to compare a cheap case to an expensive gig bag. If that wasn't the case then why would Line 6 choose a gig bag over a hard case? Conspiracy? Just because they enjoy making you disgruntled?

     

    I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. I'm sure you would feel differently if the guitar only came bundled with something you didn't want at a higher price tag.

    You are fooling yourself if you think the JTV soft case has a cost similar to the JTV hard case.  The soft cases are significantly cheaper.

    You are fooling yourself if you think the JTV soft case has a cost similar to the JTV hard case.  The soft cases are significantly cheaper.

     

    The Variax 700 came with a gig bag and cost $1500.

    I just wanted to add that this guitar is absolutely gorgeous! Set up well, no blems, electronics work great....in fact I got it at 11am, and had it programmed and my GR synth pickup installed by 4 pm and used it at the gig Sat night! The models are MUCH better than my Variax 500, which has been an awesome guitar and I am keeping for a spare.......the tones with the POD HD 500 are simply outstanding! I had two other guitarists approach me and ask me all about it, saying they could not believe the tone I was getting over and above my old guitar, which I still love and still has great tones! Especially the Strat tones! Home run Line 6! Time will tell!  Don't panic guys, it is worth the wait and you just need to be patient if you have never owned a Variax......everything has a learning curve!  And by the way, my Sweetwater Rep Bob Furlong ROCKS! He kept me informed and even reached out to me when I passed along some of your comments on the group discussions., he was awesome!

     

    For those wondering about the necks....this guitar has a thinner neck than the 500, its like comparing a LP and a Strat is the closest thing I can come to as a way to describe it. It has a satin finish on the back and it feels great! It will take a little getting used to, but I LOVE IT! Rock on!

    Seems to be in perfect condition. The setup is not great though. Quite a bit of buzz. Nothing missing from the box.
