Disappointed with the Lester tone? Try this...

Hey guys.
I've loved my original Variax 700 since I got it and now run it through a HD500 + DT50. One of the disappointing guitar emulations though has been the Lester. There's little attack on the notes and on palm muting you get a fupp fupp sound rather than a crunch crunch sound. Now I've not played a 1958 Les Paul so I can't atest to how authentic the tone is. Nevertheless, I was expecting more treble and attack akin to Slash or at least Gary Moore. Using Variax Workbench I decided to swap out the 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard bodies with the 1961 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Bingo! There's that crunch and treble I was hoping for in the Les Paul patches. Try it yourself and let me know how you go!
Cheers,
Ash.
Thanks!
I'm going to try that when I get home!
Thanks for the tip I'll try it tomorrow!
