VERY new user m13.  Genericly, where should effects be positioned?

Just got an M13.  Have a Messa Roadster with almost as many in/out options as the m13!  Am currently doing the 4 cable method and trying to build scenes.  Am looking for suggestoins on where to place cetain effects, genericly...  I have a couple really nice sounding clean channels, but my attempts at good distortion scenes arent so good.  My amp is 4 channel and I have it dialed in so that it sounds just the way I want, but obviously, since buying this, I want to have some cool distorted scenes with delay and some mods.  Is there a list of m13 effects and a traditional place where it should be in the loop?  pre? post? in front of amp?

Mesa Chan 1 Clean;  Chan 2 is a Brit metal; Chan 3 is good all around metal; and 4 is Heavier metal.

Someone correct me if im wrong but I think a good default signal chain would be as follows:

    Front of amp:

    1. Compressor

    2. EQ

    3. Wah

    4. Gain, Overdrive, or Distortion.  (Wah after Overdrives and the like for a thicker sound)

    Amp effects loop:

    Modulation effects (Phaser, Flanger, Chourus)

Time Based Effects;  Delay and Reverb.  As a general rule Reverb should always go last.

This is a good starting point for further experimentation.

    Hope this helps

    Jason
